Morning person or vampire trainee?
I’m morning. I train straight after my first two classes and I’m done by 9.30am. But here’s the thing: some of you are the complete opposite. You come alive in the evenings. Your body feels better, you’re stronger, you’re more switched on. And that’s not just preference, there’s science behind it.
The research shows:
* Core body temperature peaks in late afternoon/early evening (making muscles more pliable and less injury-prone)
* Testosterone levels for strength training can be higher in the evening for some people
* Reaction time and power output often peak later in the day
* Some people simply have a natural circadian preference for evening activity (ahem)
BUT (and this is important): the best time to train is the time you’ll actually show up consistently. An evening session you do beats a morning session you skip.
That said, if you’re a vampire trainee who thrives at 7pm, I’ve got space for you in the Monday and Wednesday 7-8pm strength class.
Get in touch if evening training is your jam.
No garlic required. Just show up and lift 🧛💪
