Yesterday was the opening of the SALA eco coffin and shroud exhibition and it was so lovely. Thank you to all who put in hard work to make it happen, in particular miss Abby Buckley who has been at the helm of the Eco Coffin Project for a few years now and it has been such a great project to be a part of as a participant a couple of years ago, to guest speaker last year, and this year to be offered the chance to host it. This project is bringing awareness to death and eco-friendly death choices. Here are some photos. If you're interested in coming to check it out it's on the whole month of August every Saturday and Sunday from 1-3pm:)

What a great idea. I've always admired Tender Funerals and I spoke to the woman, can't remember her name right now, who pioneered it a few years back. I even talked with her about opening a franchise of Tender Funerals because I loved the concept, but ended up doing it my way. Anyways, when I have a minute, I might set up something like this in the future for the same reason:) xx

Today I took part in the Death Choices expo at the Mt barker community library and it was so uplifting. Being part of the conscious death movement that is happening around the world, is extremely exciting. I can feel the shift from the Victorian era of black doom and gloom and 'interesting' death-care practices, into people now being consciously aware that death is a part of their own journey and learning that they can make choices about things that have previously been lost to us through hidden practices that are now coming to light. It's cool:)

i was mainly talking to people, but i took a video of the divine Threshold singers who give their time to visit the bedside of the dying and sing them home, and a few shots of my table. Expo table dressing is an artform I'm figuring out. cheers to the divine Emma McKinlay for giving me some hot tips, and shout out to Tashi Golden Heart for her beautiful hand-made beeswax candle. ###

Very excited to be hosting the SALA exhibition for the Eco Coffin Project, called Pushing up Daisies. The exhibition will show all the eco coffins and shrouds made by this years participants. I have a ritual that I perform after finishing each coffin spray, where I offer them to the Buddha. Making coffin sprays is something I take pride and enjoyment in, and I feel like I get better each time I make one. The flowers start telling me where they want to go:) so I just wanted to share some of the beautiful, individualised coffin sprays and memorial table sprays I've made. Xx
