🌱 Respect grows through understanding 🌳

We are proud to support 16 Days of Activism (25 Nov to 10 Dec), a global movement to end gender-based violence and inequality.

Together we can create safe, supportive spaces where everyone can thrive - and nurture meaningful conversations about respect amongst friends, families and communities.

We encourage our community to visit a Unite Tree and share what respect, unity or kindness means to you by writing or drawing on a blank leaf.

Help these beautiful trees blossom into interactive displays of community storytelling and connection. 🧡💛

Crafted in partnership with Mt Evelyn Men’s Shed, the Unite Trees will be on display until 15 December 2025 at the following locations:

🌳 The Belgrave Hub - 1616/1624 Burwood Hwy, Belgrave
🌳 Lilydale Library - Jarlo Drive, Lilydale
🌳 Mt Evelyn Community House - 50 Wray Cres, Mount Evelyn

If you can’t visit in person but still want to participate, you can share your thoughts via the link below, and we’ll display it on a leaf and attach it to a Unite Tree for you.

Australia’s first Treaty legislation has passed in Victoria's parliament!

AccessHC celebrates this historic milestone, which will give First Nations communities the power to shape policies and decisions that impact on their lives.

AccessHC is proud to see Victoria lead the way, making history as the first state or territory to negotiate a treaty, together with First Nations people. Victoria has been on this path for nearly a decade, working with communities to establish the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria, learn from the Yoorrook Justice Commission, pass legislation and make commitments to better the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Treaty creates a pathway for new relationships with First Nations People, and for creating real, practical change to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Treaty has the potential to improve our partnerships, as a community health organisation, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and community-controlled organisations. Partnerships that we will continue to build and nurture on our organisational reconciliation journey, to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and build healthier lives together.

Occupational Therapists (OTs) help people participate in activities that are meaningful to them. This could be taking care of yourself or others, working, participating in school, hobbies, or attending social events.

An Occupational Therapist’s purpose is to help you live the life you want to live. 💛✨

This week we celebrate our amazing team of OTs and the extraordinary impact they have in our community every day. We highlight the creativity, problem-solving, and compassion at the heart of OT practice.

One of our clients kindly shared how OT makes a difference in their life:

“Working with my Occupational Therapist has made a huge difference in my everyday life. Through the support I’ve received, I’ve been able to build confidence and independence with daily routines, travel, and community activities. It’s been a life-changing experience that’s allowed me to focus on what I can do, not what I can’t.”

🎉Last week, AccessHC was proud to join our colleagues in the community health sector at the launch of the Community Health: People, Place and Partnerships Impact Report 2024-25.

The report was launched at Parliament House by our CEO Anna Robinson—followed by a powerful address from The Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas MP, Minister for Health, and an insightful panel discussion. The room was filled with celebration, connection, and collaborative spirit.

We were privileged to come together with community members, sector leaders, and members of parliament—as we celebrated the difference our community health teams make in people's lives, and a joint commitment to a healthier future for all✨

This week, we welcomed Aaron Violi MP, Federal Member for Casey, and Federal Shadow Minister for Health Senator Anne Ruston to our Inspiro site in Lilydale.

They joined our CEO Anna Robinson and Board Deputy Chair Annette Mercuri for a tour and a chat about growth in local services since the merger, as well as funding support still needed in the Yarra Ranges region.

It was a great opportunity to demonstrate the wide range of health services Access Health and Community offer the Yarra Ranges community and for the guests to meet some of our wonderful staff.

Thank you for your support of community health and to the Star Mail News for covering the visit.
