Loneliness Awareness Week Australia

You don’t need a best friend, lifelong mate or big crew to feel less lonely.

Making friends or forming connections takes time and effort, but it often starts with a small moment. An awkward hello, a chance encounter, an act of kindness, a compliment, a shared experience or interest or even a funny story – these small but meaningful interactions matter. They spark conversation and help us feel seen and valued.

This Loneliness Awareness Week, you can find real moments that help young people connect and make moments matter at home, work, school, online and in the community – plus you can find extensive research and resources (including translated into Arabic, Chinese and Vietnamese).

Let’s make grief visible – in every language.

Griefline’s 2025 National Grief Survey is a vital initiative to understand how grief is experienced across Australia, and where people are falling through the cracks in support. At Health Translations, we’re proud to support this campaign and highlight Griefline’s work in making grief support more accessible for people from non-English speaking backgrounds.

If you’ve experienced grief in the last 12 months, we invite you to take part in the survey.

🕒 Takes 10–15 minutes | 📅 Open until 31 August 2025
https://griefline.org.au/2025-national-grief-survey/

If grief has touched your life at any stage, you’re also invited to share your story through Griefline’s national storytelling campaign during Grief Awareness Month.

📅 Story submissions until 26 July - 🔗 https://forms.office.com/r/jMGmpgZL7E

Griefline has also developed a range of multilingual resources to support people through different types of grief. Whether that’s after the death of a loved one, losing a pet, experiencing a natural disaster, or caring for someone who is grieving. Resources are available in Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Greek, Spanish and Vietnamese.

It's National Diabetes Week, and CEH is joining Diabetes Australia's call to raise awareness about prevention, which matters at every stage of the journey.

Whether it’s reducing your risk of type 2 diabetes or avoiding complications for people already diagnosed, taking small, informed steps can make a big difference. But there’s still a lot of confusion and misinformation about diabetes, and this can make managing it even harder.

That’s where access to clear, culturally appropriate health information becomes so important.

The Health Translations library has a growing range of translated resources to support culturally and linguistically diverse individuals, families, and communities living with or at risk of diabetes.

Here are some of the latest translated resources available:
