π Merry Christmas! π
Santa paused mid-flight, rubbing his back,
βHo ho hold onβ¦ that sack is a heavy pack.β
Too many rooftops, too little prep
he should have stretched instead of just leapt.
He bent his knees, slowed the landings down,
Lifted a little smarter from town to town.
Santa lifted his sack and delivered delight.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! π π¦β¨
Feeling like Santa this silly season? Donβt wait.
Physica Physio is open next week to help you move pain-free! π π¦β¨

π¬οΈ When recovery feels stuck, your breath might be the missing piece
Living with chronic pain or a long-term injury isn't just physical, it affects your mental health too. The stress, frustration, and anxiety can actually make your pain worse.
Our physiotherapist Andrew Erzen knows this firsthand. During his professional ice hockey career, a body check left him unable to skate for 4 months with p***c bone stress syndrome. The mental challenge was just as tough as the physical one.
What helped turn things around? Breathwork.
π‘ Here's why it matters:
When you're dealing with ongoing pain, your nervous system can get stuck in "fight or flight" mode leading to:
Breathwork is a simple but powerful tool that guides your body back to a calmer state, giving you a better environment for healing.
In his latest blog, Andrew shares:
β His personal recovery story
β The science behind breathwork and pain
β Simple techniques you can try at home
β How to know when you need extra support
Read the full article and learn practical breathwork techniques you can start using today π
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply wanting to improve your movement and strength, our classes are designed to help you reach your goals in a supportive, expert-led environment.

In 2018 Physica will celebrate 40 years of providing Physiotherapy in our current location of Ringwood, Victoria, Australia.
Physica was established by Mr Warwick James who saw that the urban spread east of Melbourne required a skilled Physiotherapist. In the current location Warwick converted an old house into a clinic called Ringwood Manipulative Physiotherapy Clinic. Quickly the clinic grew with the booming population growth in Ringwood and surrounding districts. Richard Gole and Greg Collis-Brown came on board soon after and grew the clinic not only in practitioners and clients but also the reputation as being one of the leading Physiotherapy clinics in Australia. This was primarily on the back of Greg Collis-Brown being a mentor and educator at the universities teaching physiotherapy both at the undergraduate and post graduate levels.
In 2001 the clinic underwent a major redevelopment into a purpose built facility. This, combined with Ringwood becoming a junction point of the East Link freeway and the Eastern freeway, has seen a further growth in Ringwood as a suburb and the clinic.
Richard Gole left as a partner and physiotherapist in 2001 and Warwick James followed in 2008 (Warwick continues to work at the clinic). From then Andrew Seymour, Darren Ross, Chris Tubb and Daniel Zwolak have become partners and the clinic changed names to Physica in 2009.
From 2009 to 2017 we worked to help establish six clinics in Tasmania to grow the Physica brand. We provided mentoring and professional development services to the Physiotherapy industry in Tasmania. In late 2017 the clinics in Tasmania came under the umbrella Physiotas - with Physica having left a permanent mark on improving the quality of care in Physiotherapy across the state of Tasmania. A legacy we will be proud of.
The clinic continues to grow with a superior leadership and mentoring process led by our senior Physiotherapists, in particular Greg Collis-Brown.
Physica continues to be known as a centre of excellence with nearly all staff having attained post graduate Masters qualifications in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Our services include: Musculoskeletal and spinal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, clinical pilates, antenatal physiotherapy, GLA:D rehabilitation for knee and hip arthritis, falls and balance, TMJ (jaw) treatment, vestibular and balance physiotherapy, bike/swim/running education/rehab, orthotic prescription just to name a few.
We strive for excellence and will strive to achieve your goals. If you have any questions on how we can help you in any way; drop us a line, whether this be to achieve a pain free movement or strive for excellence in your sporting aspiration we cater for all ages and conditions.
Thanks for reading our story, we look forward to adding more pages over the the next 40 years and sharing this with you whether it be here on social media or in our rooms.
