Deep plane facelift and necklift results at 6 months for my patient who had undergone 2 prior facelifts in the past performed by 2 different surgeons utilizing different techniques.

The reasons I choose to perform a Deep Plane Facelift are:

Massive weight loss can leave excess skin that no amount of further exercise, dieting and skin tightening treatments can fix.

My patient underwent excess skin removal in the form of a 360 degree circumferential body lift, bilateral mastopexy (breast lift) and brachioplasty (arm reduction).

Australia Day reflection.

As a Vietnamese boat person who arrived in this 'lucky country' 45 years ago, I've experienced firsthand the transformative power of resilience, hard work, and determination.

My parents instilled in me and my siblings a growth mindset, encouraging us to pursue our passions, strive for excellence, and give back to the community that welcomed us.

Today, I'm proud to say that I've turned my dreams into reality, and I'm committed to inspiring others to do the same. I pay tribute to the traditional custodians of this land, past, present and emerging, and I'm grateful to call Australia home and consider myself a proud Australian.

Confidence means different things to different people.

For some of us, it’s about looking and feeling our best.

For others, it’s about acceptance and pride in who we are and not needing validation or approval from others, in all that we do.

For me, it’s about owning my journey, embracing the lessons, having the courage to try new things, reinvent myself, and love and respect myself enough to keep striving for what I actually want - whilst not compromising my values.

But I wasn’t born with confidence and it wasn’t bestowed on me when I got into medical school or I became a plastic surgeon or one day I looked in the mirror and thought I was amazing.

It has been a journey of a thousand miles.

As a woman and as a plastic surgeon and as a mother, who to the world seemingly has it all, I have always personally struggled with self-worth and imposter syndrome - am I pretty enough, smart enough, good enough, devoted enough, selfless enough etc.

Giving myself time for self reflection has made me realise what I bring to the table, what I love doing and what I want in the next phase of my life - and I am bursting with excitement for the road ahead.

I am always passionate about finessing my plastic surgery skills and what can be done surgically and non surgically to improve my patient outcomes and on a broader scale, what can I do to help women (and men) realise their self-worth, optimise their health and wellbeing and live better.

I use to be afraid of failure. I use to be scared of disappointing everyone I cared about. I use to doubt myself and second guess my decisions so I couldn’t make decisions at all. I use to worry what others would think. The former me use to live in fear and that held me back from doing so much because I always wanted to play it safe and stay in my comfort zone. And we all know that nothing grows in comfort zones. It wasn’t until I was forced to make hard decisions, face my fears, speak my truth, take risks that I truly began to take charge of my destiny... to the point now that every challenge or hardship or obstacle is an opportunity to combine creativity, courage and commitment for personal and professional success and satisfaction. And when you’ve found yourself isolated after years of study and hard work and without a job or prospects or colleagues and had your kindness, trust, money and naivety taken advantage of time and time again and been bullied, I could have chosen to remain defeated or walk away. But I chose to keep going, go bigger and better and give it everything I had with determination, courage, passion and purpose - to make a difference, change lives, empower others and inspire my children to believe that anything is possible
