A little luck of the Irish came our way this St Paddy’s Day! We took a virtual trip to Ireland with our Armchair Travel session, complete with a cheeky dash of Baileys and plenty of green cupcakes. Safe to say, it was the order of the afternoon 🇮🇪💚🍀

These Forever Dance classes are proof that you don’t need to stand up to dance it out! Each fortnight, dance instructor Cathie takes our residents through a series of fun, chair-based routines that focus on gentle movement, mobility and keeping the body active. There are no complicated steps, just simple moves, fun music and something everyone can join in, no matter their fitness or mobility level.

At Odyssey, pets are part of the family, and they’re welcome here just as much as our residents. As shared by 9 News Gold Coast, we don’t just allow pets, we support them. We even include pets in our care plans, so our residents never have to worry about managing their furry friend’s needs alone. For many seniors, their pet is their closest companion and keeping that bond supports emotional wellbeing, reduces loneliness, and gives purpose to daily life. We know how heartbreaking it can be for someone to consider having to give up their pet, that’s why we’ve designed Odyssey to be pet friendly, so people never have to choose between the support they need and the animal they love.

Our residents are always happy to welcome the Little Scholars to Odyssey! These kinds of visits promote empathy and understanding, all while enriching the lives of participants on either end of the age spectrum. Intergenerational programs have become increasingly recognised for having profound positive impacts on both seniors and young individuals. From storytelling and sing-alongs to collaborative art and craft sessions, these interactions enable children to actively engage with the senior residents while creating a nurturing and stimulating environment.
