Eating can be a celebration of togetherness, a chance to connect, reminisce, find joy and create memories. This makes food more than fuel!

Would you like nutrition advice? You can ask you GP for a referral to REDHS Dietitian for nutrition advice and guidance.

Today is Allied Health Professionals Day, with the theme ‘Stronger together’.

This theme highlights the benefits of multidisciplinary team-based care. While it is well known that allied health professionals play a key role in the health and wellbeing of all Australians, health system reform is finally recognising the value, both economic and clinical, of multidisciplinary care.

At REDHS we have a fantastic Allied Health Team that work together with other departments to deliver the best possible care for our patients, residents and the community.

Today we acknowledge World Mental Health Day, and this year Mental Health Australia is encouraging everyone to connect with their community for good mental health.

In 2023, almost 1 in 3 Australians reported feeling lonely. Connecting with community can help reduce loneliness and strengthen wellbeing for ourselves and others.

Community can mean:
✅ friends, loved ones, or mob
✅ a community choir
✅ a multicultural centre
✅ a community garden
✅ a book club
✅ a walking or running group
✅ a volunteer group
✅ an LGBTQIA+ group

Below are some great ideas to help you connect with your community this October.
