Over 9 years ago, to watch a sensory screening it was a drive to Morayfield. Personally for my family that was a big NOT HAPPENING! I would break out in a sweat just thinking about the drive. So I made contact and found out what had to happen to get it on the Sunshine Coast. In July 2013 we had or first screening at Maroochydore then a few years ago Kawana also joined.
Getting to be apart of families first time at the movies, watching a child come every month and at the start they can only stay still and concentrate for 10 minutes only to see a year later they are able to watch the whole movie. Seeing new families come in a bit stressed only to see them leaving with a smile once they realise that we are all in the same boat and no one thinks anything of their child stimming, dancing around the cinema or laughing at inappropriate times. To watch some of the kids make new friends and hang out together during the movie, it has been an amazing journey with many families and I have made many friends as had my son. With our weekends being occupied I unfortunately haven't been able to make it to many sessions but I will surely see you all around.
I thank you all for supporting the sensory screenings and please continue to do so! Event Cinemas have always been amazing, to start this initiative and continue to grow it Australia wide is absolutely awesome😀Thank you
Kristy

Wheely Fun is Queensland’s new and exciting program bringing bike riding into children’s daily lives.
In a traffic-free environment, our program introduces bike riding as a fun pastime, promotes physical activity and also give children and families the confidence and encouragement to get out riding.Children will also learn important skills like how to check their tyres, how to stop safely, correct road rules and etiquette all on the bike they'll use the most, their own.
They offer a special needs package for children who aren't confident riding more than 10 metres unassisted.
