Shedding horses = dirty brushes!
Fill a bucket with water and add a couple of squirts of Doterra On guard Cleaner Concentrate. Remove excess hair from the brushes and soak them in the solution, rinse out and let dry. I was amazed at how clean the brushes came out, added bonus of the clean and invigorating scent! Great idea to do the hoof picks too!
On guard protective oil blend contains the oils Wild Orange, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Leaf and Bark, Eucalyptus and Rosemary altogether have antiviral and antibacterial properties making it a powerful cleaner! This can be used just about anywhere in your home or at the stables and because it is non-toxic/biodegradable it is perfect for cleaning out feed tubs and water troughs. Definitely getting another bottle to leave at the stables!

Coughing horses.
With the weather warming up and getting drier too alot of horses will develop a cough. Here's a great recipe that has worked wonders and horses love it too!

120mL Raw Honey
Add 8 drops of each of these Doterra oils...
Lavender
Lemon
Frankincense
Peppermint
On Guard

Mix well and give 10mLs twice a day to your coughing horse. 😁🐴in my experience I have noticed it gives horses instant relief and in no time the cough will ease.

So why these oils in the Mane and Tail Conditiner...

Peppermint oil...increases circulation therefore promotes hair growth. One study found that Peppermint oil increases the number of hair follicles, follicle depth and overall hair growth.

Cedarwood oil....also promotes hair growth and reduces hair loss by balancing the oil-producing glands in the scalp. Cedarwood oil also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties

Rosemary Oil - great for strengthening the hair follicles as it improves circulation and promotes nerve growth. Could prevent hair follicles from being starved of blood supply, dying off and leading to hair loss.

Lavender oil - this oil has properties that can generate the growth of cells and reduce stress therefore it can speed up hair growth. Has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties which can improve scalp health.

And they all smell amazing ,which the horses love🐴😊

Why these oils are used....

Almond oil - this oil is rich in B7 or biotin which softens and strengthens the hair. It is easily absorbed into the skin, making it an ideal oil to aid in the absorption of essential oils. It also has a natural SPF 5 so can help with sun protection.

Jojoba - this contains powerful antioxidants and omegas 6 & 9. It is naturally antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and hypo-allergenic! Very penetrable and aids in retaining essential oils on the skin then drawing them deep down into the skins layers.

Vitamin E oil - also contains antioxidant properties which aids in skin repair. It also stimulates capillary growth in the scalp.

Well that's the carriers used in the mane and tail conditioner.......stay tuned for the reasons why the essential oils used are so beneficial!
