Hey fam 👋

This isn’t my usual kind of post. It’s a heavy one, and it comes from a place of love and loss.

I’m not religious, but I am spiritual and I truly respect whatever beliefs guide each of you. In whatever way you connect to something greater - through prayer, energy, or quiet reflection - I ask that you send a little warmth and love to my family in Alice Springs right now.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to a truly beautiful soul. My Uncle Paul Gardner was one of a kind - gentle, generous, and deeply nurturing. He had a heart that made you feel safe, seen and cared for.

His love for horse racing wasn’t just a passion - it was a legacy. He didn’t just train winners on the track, he shared that knowledge, that fire, and that joy with everyone around him - his children, his nieces and nephews, and all of us lucky enough to witness it.

He was one of the only uncles I grew up with, and that makes this loss feel even closer, even more personal.

But as much as it hurts to let him go, I take comfort in knowing he’s finally at peace - his pain behind him, his spirit free.

You’ll always be part of us. Always loved, always remembered.

I needed to remind you of something that perhaps you’d forgotten about or maybe just too busy to slow down and pause for too long.

You deserve the same care, patience, and effort that you so freely give to others. It’s easy to pour your energy into supporting the people around you, but don’t forget that your own well-being matters just as much.
You are important, valuable, and deeply meaningful - not because of what you do for others, but simply because of who you are. Taking time to invest in yourself isn’t selfish; it’s necessary.
