🌟 A Special Intergenerational Visit in Our Community 🌟

Today our residents enjoyed a beautiful visit to the Early Education Centre in Romsey, and what a heart‑warming day it was.

Together, residents and children spent time making ANZAC biscuits, chatting, drawing, and sharing plenty of smiles. A very special highlight was the swapping letters with our young friends – creating meaningful connections across generations.

Thank you for hosting such a special intergenerational program. We look forward to our next visit and continuing these lovely friendships.🤍

🧋✨ A Taste of the 1950s! ✨🧋

This afternoon, residents were treated to a good old‑fashioned milkshake in the Eucalyptus Retro Diner. The experience was made even more special with classic 1950s diner uniforms, which residents were absolutely delighted to try on — bringing plenty of smiles, laughter, and nostalgia along the way. 💙

🎶We were so happy to welcome Broadford Ukulele Group for a special visit today🎶

The room was filled with live music, toe tapping, clapping, smiles, dancing, and plenty of singing! The group will be visiting us monthly, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Many of our residents have connections to Broadford, so it was extra special to see the ukulele players stay back for a cuppa and catch up with old friends.

A huge thank you to the Broadford Ukulele Group for generously volunteering their time — it truly was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all.

We were delighted to welcome local messy play group &Mischief into our Eucalyptus Memory Support unit for a fun‑filled session of creativity and connection. With plenty of painting, decorating, and Play‑Doh making, the room was filled with colour, laughter, and big smiles.

It was truly special to see children and residents sharing joyful moments together — old and young connecting through play, imagination, and laughter. These lovely moments remind us of the power of community and the happiness that comes from creating together.

Thank you for bringing such energy, warmth, and fun to our residents. What a beautiful day of memories made!

We had a very special visitor over the weekend 🐾💙

Beautiful dog Angus came to visit our home and absolutely delighted our residents. The smiles say it all! Angus soaked up plenty of pats and kisses and seemed to enjoy the attention just as much as everyone else.

We’re hoping he’ll be back for another visit very soon 🐶✨

🌟 Intergenerational Connections Begin! 🌟

We were delighted to welcome the Early Education Centre to Romsey Community Aged Care for their very first visit as part of our Intergenerational program.

The children will visit us once a fortnight, with our residents visiting the childcare centre on the alternate fortnight. From the very first session, it was clear how special this program will be, residents and children bonded beautifully playing the balloon parachute game, filling the room with laughter, giggles, and shared joy.

One particularly touching moment was watching our resident pianist, Flo, sit side by side with one of the children as they played a song together on the piano a heart‑warming example of how music bringing generations together.

It was wonderful to see how much fun everyone had, young and young‑at‑heart alike. We’re very much looking forward to seeing these friendships grow and blossom over time.

Residents in our Memory Support Unit are loving the newest addition to their courtyard 🌿

The new shaded pergola provides a beautiful space to enjoy a cuppa, spend time with family and friends, or simply relax outdoors and take in nature.

Residents had a productive afternoon helping to tidy the area before sitting down together for afternoon tea and a lovely chat. It’s been wonderful to see this space already bringing people together and creating opportunities for moments in the fresh air ☀️💚

🐰🌸 Easter Joy at Our Home! 🌸🐣

The Easter Bunny made a very special visit to see all of our wonderful residents, spreading love, laughter and plenty of Easter cheer! 💛

There were smiles all around as chocolate eggs were delivered and warm Easter wishes were shared with everyone. 🍫🥚 A big congratulations to Carolyn, the lucky winner of our Easter Hamper raffle!

'Celebrating One Year of Romsey Community Aged Care!'

The 31st of March marks one whole year since the grand opening of Romsey Community Aged Care - and wow, what an afternoon we had celebrating! 🥳

Our beautiful community of residents, their families, and our amazing staff came together to reflect on our achievements over the past year and the friendships that have blossomed along the way. It was so lovely seeing everyone out in the sunshine, enjoying out stunning gardens, sharing delicious food and drinks, and singing and dancing along with the entertainment.

The love, care, and strong sense of community we've created in our home is a true testament to the wonderful residents who call Romsey Community Aged Care home, and to the dedicated staff who are privileged to work in their home every day.

We look forward to many more years of connection, joy and community 💕

After ending our first New Year at Romsey Community Aged care we are creating a time capsule, with special notes, messages and other treasures to be retrieved in years to come.
