Women Supporting Women – On the Water! ⛵💪

Over the June long weekend, some of our ladies teamed up to race in the Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta at RMYS. They borrowed a Cavalier 350 and competed in really tough weather conditions – and smashed it!

With crew from Rosebud, Brighton, and RMYS, it was all about teamwork, resilience, and the spirit of women sailing together. 🙌💙

A big shout-out to Mornington Peninsula Shire () for their incredible support!

Thanks to a Community Support Grant, we’ve upgraded Rescue 3—or as she’s affectionately known, The Taco 🌮—with a brand-new four-stroke outboard motor.

The upgrade means a safer, quieter, and more environmentally friendly vessel that’s also easier to operate. That’s a big win for our volunteer crew—young and old—who give their time to keep our waters safe during training and events.

Here’s Mark, one of our youngest crew members, getting a feel for the new motor in The Taco 💙 This photo says it all—our club is growing stronger, more connected, and more capable every day.

What a perfect weekend. Bunnings sausage sizzle Saturday, then glorious conditions on the bay today for our Sternchaser. Our training squad even had a special appearance from some dolphins. What a treat!!

In addition, we have held Stand up paddle board sessions, a ladies luncheon, sail training and the Maggie Island Brewery New Years Challenge. A few of our members have also been participating in various regattas and Shaun McKenna is to be congratulated for sailing in the Melbourne to Hobart in a record winning time on Rush Hour. Well done to all competitors and we look forward to the next few exciting weeks of Summer. Rosebud and Port Phillip Bay are really putting on a show. We love to see people enjoying the beach and water as much as we do.

Wow. What a busy few weeks we have had at the club.
Sunday 29th we had the Capel Sound Invitational (Battle for the bar) and what a superb day it was. Over 100 registered entries and a real nod to water craft. Thanks to Dean Robinson for the drone footage at the Rosebud end.

Ever wanted to try Paddle Boarding? Got a board and want practice? Or perhaps getting one or gifting one for Christmas?

Rosebud Yacht Club is hosting their annual Stand Up Paddleboarding sessions!
3rd, 4th, 17th & 18th January

45min session with equipment, instruction and safety gear supplied

$20 per person with $5 going to the Rosebud Hospital!
