Behind every diagnosis is a child with their own personality, strengths, humour, and way of seeing the world. Autism is part of our journey, but it does not define the person I love. Like every child, they deserve to be seen, respected, supported, included, and given the opportunity to thrive.

I’m walking not to change who they are; but to help build a world that better understands, accepts, and supports them. Different does not mean less, and these children often teach us more than we could ever teach them 💚🤍💜

As an Occupational Therapist, I have the privilege of seeing the world through the eyes of others; and no two perspectives are ever the same.

Across all ages, every person experiences, processes, and interacts with their environment in ways that are UNIQUELY their own. Our role is not to change who someone is, but to understand how they engage with the world and SUPPORT them to participate in the things that matter most to them.

From early childhood through to adulthood, creating environments that are flexible, inclusive, and responsive makes all the DIFFERENCE.

When we shift away from expecting people to conform, and instead focus on adapting our approach, we create space for individuals to feel SAFE, CAPABLE, and VALUED.

Today is a reminder that awareness is just the beginning! Real impact comes from ACCEPTANCE, RESPECT, and meaningful support at every stage of life 💜💛💙❤️💚🩷

It’s natural to worry and want to “fix” everything as a parent; but not every behaviour needs correcting. Sometimes, like self-stimming, it’s how a child regulates, copes, and feels safe. The goal isn’t to stop it, but to understand it 🙌🏼

Whether it’s learning to tie shoelaces, ride a bike, or cook a meal; these 4 steps help turn ideas into actions.

1️⃣ Imagine the task (Ideation)
2️⃣ Plan the steps (Motor planning)
3️⃣ Carry it out (Ex*****on)

It was a pleasure to meet and chat with other passionate business owners, especially the incredible women leading the way in community care. Grateful to be part of such a driven and caring network. 💛

A big thank you to Yomna from AMCOSAN for providing us with a safe space to voice our concerns and experiences regarding quality and compliance within the NDIS and aged care space. 🫶🏼

Meet Jessica 👋
Jessica is a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy student with a big passion for helping kids grow and thrive through meaningful activities 💫

She brings early experience from tutoring, where she learned to adapt to different learning styles and connect with kids of all ages.

Outside of OT, Jessica enjoys walks, music, and quality time with her family and friends 🌿🎶👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

During her placement with us at Occupational Therapy for Wellbeing, Jessica has already built her skills in real-time problem-solving, client rapport, and reflective practice. She hopes to strengthen her writing skills for note- taking and reports! 💡

We’ve loved having her on the team and watching her grow in confidence!
