❌The 5 Forbidden Acupressure & Acupuncture Points in Pregnancy❌
LI4, SP6, BL60, GB21 & CV3 are traditionally avoided during pregnancy due to their potential to induce labour.
🎯LI4 is very attractive for moving Qi and inducing labour. When not pregnant, it’s very effective in alleviating headaches!
🎯SP6 can stimulate the uterus and induce contractions. This point moves blood and Qi within the lower abdomen.
🎯BL60 can promote uterine contractions when stimulated.
🎯GB21 found on the shoulders can cause descent due to its potent ability to move Qi.
🎯CV3 found just above the pelvic bone brings movement of Qi and blood within the lower abdomen, potentially bringing uterine contractions.

This slight swelling is the Bladder Reflex. During pregnancy we see this get larger and more obvious due to:
🦶🏻Increased fluid retention
🦶🏻Increased blood volume
🦶🏻Increased venous capacitance
🦶🏻A shift in the body’s centre of gravity

The chakra system is closely related to the endocrine system. The pituitary gland reflex is also known as the third eye. With regard to pregnancy and birth, the posterior pituitary gland is where oxytocin is released into the blood steam to enable the uterus to contract and birth a baby. I avoid stimulating until 37 weeks, then this reflex point gets my attention to help prepare your body for birth! You can see in this photo that it’s quite raised and prominent in preparation for meeting baby! The person attached to this foot is 34 weeks tomorrow! (Shared with permission!)
