Why I created a course for parents.
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked with families whose children have received a diagnosis.
And there’s a moment I’ve witnessed time and time again.
A parent sits in front of me, holding a report in their hands.
Sometimes, they feel relieved to finally have answers.
Often, they feel overwhelmed.
Most of the time, they feel both.
A diagnosis can bring clarity, but it also brings questions. So many questions.
What does this mean for my child?
What should we do next?
Who should we listen to?
Are we doing the right things?
Parents want to do the very best for their child. But the reality is that the moment families need the most support is often the moment when the system has the least capacity to provide it.
Waitlists are long.
Appointments are spaced weeks or months apart.
And families are left trying to make big decisions with very little guidance.
Over the years, I’ve found this incredibly frustrating.
Not because families aren’t trying - they absolutely are.
But because they often don’t get access to the knowledge and perspective they need early enough.
Parents need space to process what the diagnosis means.
They need help sorting through the overwhelming number of opinions, therapies, and recommendations that suddenly appear.
And most importantly, they need reassurance that they can navigate this well.
That’s why I created the course- After the Diagnosis.
I wanted to create something that could help families sooner - not months down the track when an appointment finally becomes available.
This course brings together more than 20 years of experience working with children and families and distills it into something practical, supportive, and easy to access.
Inside the course, you’ll learn how to:
Navigate this new chapter with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
Feel more empowered about the next steps for your child and your family.
Access insights from two decades of clinical experience in just over an hour.
For parents who like to reflect and process their thoughts, the course also includes a thought journal to help guide you along the way.
Because receiving a diagnosis of any kind for your child may change the path you expected - but it doesn’t mean you have to walk that path feeling lost or alone.
My hope is that this course offers families something they so often need at this time.
