Hey Cancer,

You picked the wrong girl to mess with!

Five years ago I was told "we would be highly surprised if you DIDN'T have cancer" WTF!
Five years ago I was rushed in for major surgery.
Five years ago our lives changed forever.
Five years ago we werrw told that I would never live a normal life.
Five years ago we were told I wouldn't live a long life.

Well cancer F**K YOU, I win!!!

Stage 3C Bowel Cancer resulted in a 6 hour surgery, over 2 weeks in hospital, 7 months of chemo and many hospital stays and infections but I beat it!

✨️ R E M I S S I O N ✨️

Can't beleive it's been FIVE YEARS (well almost, my Oncologist is happy to call it) since my diagnosis and surgery for Stage 3c BOWEL CANCER.

Last week, my Oncologist said I still have a chance of reoccurance as my cancer was so damn aggressive and I'm still more likely to get cancer (again) than a regular person but my future is looking much better than it was five years ago.

Some days it feels like a lifetime ago and other days it still feels so raw and just so unbelievable what I and my family went through.

I'm soooo blessed to be here today and live the amazing life I am. And so thankful to my amazing surgeon for operating immediately and doing the wonderful job he did, who knows if I'd be here today if he didn't.

Every day is still a struggle; cancer and chemotherapy have lasting and devastating effects on your body and your mind.

Thankfully though I have the most amazing little family surrounding me 💗

If at any time your body doesn't feel right, there's pain or discomfort then get it checked. If still unsure get it checked again, sure as hell glad I was persistent.

💥 Stage 3c Bowel Cancer 💥

30 May 2019 it all started...

After 2 visits to emergency due to excruciating pain in my abdomen, I was rushed into 6 hours of major surgery removing:
• 1/3 (45cm) of my large intestine (this is where the cancerous 5x5x5 cm tumour was located),
• my appendix
• 38 lymph nodes, 6 being cancerous

With 2 weeks in hospital, 7 months of excruciating chemo, multiple week long hospital stays, a colonscopy and 18 months off work it was time to start recovery and moving on with my life!

Don't forget to check your 💩 if you see red, call the doc!
If you have unexplained abdomen pain, call the doc!
Don't ignore any symptons it's just not worth it!

🤍🩵 Baby Tommy 🩵🤍

📅 Wednesday 21st June
⏰️ 2:31 pm
⚖️ 4.876 kg / 10.7 pounds
📏 55 cm

We are all absolutely besotted and in a total love bubble with our little miracle boy.

Little Tommy had a rough start, spending his first 2 nights separated from mummy in NICU due to difficulty breathing, another 2 nights with mum in the maternity ward, home for 1 night then readmitted via emergency for another 4 nights due to loosing too much weight and jaundice.

A bit of a scare for myself, my stomach was extremely sore and hard so of course the doctors panicked due to my history and I was sent on an excursion to another hospital via ambulance for a CT Scan - thankfully this time it was just gas and constipation.

5 weeks old now and he's almost back to his birth weight (this is only meant to take 2 weeks), we're back home, sleep deprived but getting used to life as a family of 4.

Harry is the absolutely best brother ever, always wanting to help and reminding mummy what to do, this morning I was giving Tommy a bottle and Harry said to me "mum, you forgot to give Tommy mummy b**b milk first, before his bottle"! 6 year old knows all!

An amazing friend, work colleague and mum friend was recently diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer when she was 37 weeks pregnant.

As we have no birthing facilities in Newman; pregant Kate, hubby Joel and their 2 young kids (Leo 4 and Mimz 2) were in Bunbury (South of Perth) to prepare for the delivery of their 3rd child when they were told the news.

Beautiful Heath was born a little early but perfectly perfect and poor Kate has been busy going from maternity ward to cancer ward while trying to hold her s**t togther for her kids.

Now she will have to endure surgeries (double mastectomy) and agressive chemo which means the family will have to stay down South for quiet a while before they can return home, 1,400kms north.

If you can, please donate or please write some words of wisdom and encourage for this beautiful family ♥️

Our family is growing by ONE more.
🩵 Baby boy arriving June / July 💙

We're so excited to finally have our little miracle bubba on board.

After years of wanting, years of trying and years of heartache we finally have a perfect little boy growing in my belly.

As the way our life now goes, it hasn't been easy:

I spent the first 3.5 months pretty much bed ridden feeling extremely unwell, nauseous and fatigued.

A further month worried sick after receiving some pretty devesting news, but after a quick trip to Perth and a amniocentesis (not pleasant at all) it was ruled out and bub is healthy.

Back to Newman after our big 6 week holiday and fatigue has taken over me, if I'm not working you'll find be fast asleep in my little dark cave.

After a scan last week we've been told our boy is big, measuring over 95%ile but he again is healthy and all in proportion.

It's been a busy week:
• oncologist and
• surgeon appointments yesterday - still NED woohoo
• massive GP appointment today with a cancelled whooping cough vaccination due to being unwell and a temperature
• blood test today to rule out infections
• Friday, I have my first midwife appointment, very excited
• next Wednesday is my GD / GTT test, 6 weeks earlier than normal due to bub measuring so big
• next Thursday, we will try again for my whooping cough vaccination

No wonder I'm exhausted!

Birth plan - who knows!
Due to no Birthing facilities in Newman, there are 2 options:
▪︎ if I'm low risk, I have to go to Port Hedland 4 weeks before delivery date
▪︎ if I'm considered high risk then I have go to Perth 8 weeks before delivery date and most probably have bubby at King Eddie's.

We're so excited to finally be on this journey and our little one is so extremely loved by so many already 🩵

4 days stuck in bed & still counting.
Aching body.
Nose running like a tap.
Coughing so much it hurts.
Unable to keep my eyes open.
So tired.

Thanks to now having a terrible immune system, a little cold 🥶 puts me out of action for a week...!

It's been over 40 degrees outside for the past week and I've been stuck inside under a blanket hugging a box of tissues.

Rant over!
