Day 1 – ABBA Conference
What a great start to the conference, with a lineup of valuable and forward-thinking presentations across the Brahman industry.
A standout topic was the emerging use of tail hair sampling in Brahmans to measure nitrogen storage. This is an exciting development that may eventually be incorporated into breeding values—something we’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on and sharing more about soon.
We also heard from DIT AgTech, showcasing their water-based supplementation systems and the positive impact they’re seeing across commercial cattle operations.

Stud Spotlight – Pluto Brahmans
A fantastic local showcase from Pluto Brahmans, operated by the Muller family. With their first Brahman calves branded back in 1961, their program now spans multiple properties from Proserpine through to Richmond.
Their operation truly reflects a paddock-to-plate system—breeding quality cattle right through to finished bullocks. An impressive 95% of their cattle grade MSA to Nature Fresh, processed through Borthwicks.
We’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Ken and the Muller family over the years, and it’s always a highlight visiting them. Their knowledge of their herd is second to none—they know each animal, its pedigree, and the families behind them.
It’s a great example of what happens when a breed is genuinely valued and looked after—the results speak for themselves.

Commercial Producer of the Year – Kenilworth Brahmans
A huge congratulations to the Maloney family of Kenilworth Brahmans, established in 1967, on being awarded Commercial Producer of the Year.
Kenilworth is well known for producing quality grey poll Brahmans with excellent temperament and fertility. Their reputation speaks volumes—consistently topping local saleyards with quality heifers and previously setting a world record price of $96,000 for Kenilworth 4899.
Operating over 17,000 acres near Mt Coolon, Kelvin, Margaret, Kelveen, Brad, and family are a true example of dedication, vision, and hard work paying off.
We’re proud to not only call the Kenilworth team clients, but close friends. Since the early days of Gener8, we’ve worked alongside them—often spending just as much time talking cattle as we do working.
We couldn’t think of a more deserving family for this recognition and look forward to celebrating with them properly soon.
