πŸ’™ SAS is Going Blue for Do It For Dolly Day

In 2018, Dolly Everett tragically lost her life at just 14 years old after ongoing bullying and cyberbullying. Her story sparked a powerful movement across Australia β€” and it's one that deeply resonates with everyone here at SAS.

This May 8, we're proudly going BLUE to honour Dolly and stand together against bullying. πŸ¦‹

Every child deserves to feel safe, valued and never alone.

You can support Dolly's Dream by:

Together we can make a difference. No one should ever face bullying alone. πŸ’™

They gave so much, so we could live freely.

This ANZAC Day, SAS Support Solutions pauses to honour the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women β€” past and present whose courage and sacrifice shaped the nations we call home.

We also recognise the veterans in our community living with injury, disability and the invisible wounds of service.

Their strength, and the loved ones who support them, will never be forgotten.

Lest We Forget. 🌺

NDIS UPDATE β€” What was announced on 22 April 2026

Yesterday, NDIS Minister Mark Butler announced significant changes to the NDIS at the National Press Club.
We know this news has caused a lot of worry and uncertainty in our community, so we wanted to share a clear summary of what was announced.

What's been announced:

πŸ”Ή Tightened eligibility β€” An estimated 160,000 participants will no longer meet the criteria for the NDIS over the next four years.

πŸ”Ή Reduced plan funding β€” Average annual plan funding will be reduced from around $31,000 to $26,000, returning to 2023 levels.

πŸ”Ή Renewed eligibility assessments β€” All participants will undergo reassessments under new criteria.

πŸ”Ή New Framework Planning delayed β€” The planning reforms previously set for July 2026 have been pushed back to April 2027.

πŸ”Ή Reduced community participation funding β€” Cuts to social and community participation supports will start from 1 July 2026.

What this means right now:

βœ”οΈ Most changes don't take effect immediately. New eligibility criteria will be developed by a technical advisory group and won't apply until at least 2028.

βœ”οΈ Your current plan is still valid. No changes will be made to your plan without contact from the NDIA.

βœ”οΈ New legislation still needs to pass Parliament before many of these changes can be implemented.

βœ”οΈ Consultation is planned with the disability community as criteria are developed.

We understand this is hard news.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, worried, or confused β€” you're not alone.
This announcement has created real uncertainty for many participants and families across our community.

At SaS Support Solutions Shepparton, we're here to help you navigate whatever comes next. If you have questions about your current plan or what these announcements might mean for you, please reach out.
