Weather update and road closures… please stay safe
Hunter electorate update
Thursday, 22 May

The Bureau of Meteorology are advising that there will be plenty of rain today and that it will increase during the day, and remain with us until Friday.
We are likely to get a reprieve over the weekend before more significant rain coming in on Monday.
With all the rain still forming across catchment areas, further flood surges remain a risk over the coming days.

⛆ FLOODING:
The NSW SES advises people in the following areas, Broke, Bulga, Milbrodale and Wollombi, who remain on a watch and act alert, please NOT TO ENTER FLOODWATER due to current minor to major flooding.
You should monitor the situation as it is constantly changing. Avoid floodwater for your safety.
Residents in Singleton and surrounds are asked to STAY INORMED about possible flooding. Further alerts will be issued if the situation changes.
🕳️ POTHOLES
There are pretty big craters in the road with all this rain causing minor holes to become large ones.
In particular the stretch of the New England Highway between Singleton and Muswellbrook is bad with many cars forced to change tyres on the side of the road in dark and wet conditions.
If you are driving through the area, please slow down to avoid major damage to your car and watch put for fellow travellers who may be tending to their tyres.
Transport for NSW will get to repairs as the weather allows.
If you know of any additional issues around the Hunter electorate, please let me know so I can update the post.
