💛 Say Their Name Day | 25 March 2026 💛

This Wednesday marks Say Their Name Day, a beautiful initiative by Red Nose Grief and Loss that brings families, friends, and communities together in remembrance, compassion, and connection.

Saying a baby or child’s name out loud is one of the most powerful acts of kindness we can offer. It acknowledges their life, their love, and the space they will always hold in our hearts.

At Paper Cranes Children’s Foundation, we understand how deeply this matters.

Today, we say their names…
Carmella, Callum, Joshua Daniel, Joy (Joey T), Maya, Mia, Madelyn M, Ryley, Maximillian, McKenzie, Madalyn C, Joey C, William, Jacob and the many other children we have known, supported, and had to say goodbye to far too soon.

Their legacy lives on through our work, supporting families in the community and building Wattle Cottage.
It lives on in the quiet, meaningful moments:
🌿 Checking on Joey’s wattles
📖 Reading treasured thank you and Christmas cards, again and again
🌹 Pruning the beautiful roses in the memorial alley
🤍 Caring for donated medical equipment that once supported little lives

These are more than memories, they are small but powerful reminders that love and compassion never leave us.

Their stories continue to inspire everything we are building, a place of care, compassion, and connection for families walking incredibly difficult journeys.

For bereaved parents, having your child remembered, spoken about, and honoured is not just important, it’s everything.

This March, Red Nose Australia is hosting Say Their Name Day remembrance services across the country. If you’re seeking a space to remember, grieve, and connect, we gently encourage you to attend a service near you or online.

💛 Say their name
💛 Honour their life
💛 Keep their memory alive

Many families don’t realise this paediatric palliative care directory exists in Australia.

If you are supporting a child with complex medical or life limiting conditions, this directory can help you find services available in your state.

Paper Cranes Children’s Foundation is listed under Queensland providers in the national directory.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply finding where support exists 💛

Save this post so you can find it again later, or share it with someone who might need it.

Daffodil Day 2025 – August 21st

Today, Australians across the country come together to give hope to those impacted by cancer. Daffodil Day is about raising awareness, celebrating resilience, and showing support for people and families affected by this disease.

Cancer touches almost every family in some way — almost 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed by the age of 85. By spreading awareness and sharing the message of hope, we can help shine a light on the importance of research, care, and support.

Let’s come together this August to remember, support, and give hope.
