🎉 We’re officially ONE! 🎉

To celebrate our very first birthday at PCCF, the team stepped out for a day of curiosity, connection, and celebration.

We kicked things off with a visit to the Gunther von Hagens' BODY WORLDS exhibition in Brisbane — an absolutely mind-blowing exploration of the human body in all its forms. From the artistry of movement to the marvels of anatomy, we wandered through the exhibit in awe of the plasticisation process (a must-see if you're in Brisbane).

To top off the day, we shared a delicious lunch at Longtime Restaurant in the heart of Brisbane city.

Here's to one amazing year down — and many more to come! 💛💚💛

A beautiful morning spent at the Club Southside Breakfast this weekend just been, surrounded by passionate community leaders and local changemakers.

We’re so grateful to have received a community grant to support the ongoing work of Wattle Cottage, and honoured to be acknowledged during the event for the impact of Paper Cranes Children’s Foundation.

Today, we celebrate all the incredible mums out there—the ones who are with us, the ones we hold in our hearts, the dads who step up and wear both hats, and the amazing souls who take on the mothering role with love and compassion.

At Paper Cranes Children’s Foundation, we are especially grateful for the caregivers and nurturers who support our children with endless love, strength, and kindness. You are the heartbeats that keep our community thriving.

💜 What is Purple Day? 💜

Purple Day is a global movement dedicated to raising awareness about epilepsy. Every year on March 26th, people around the world wear purple and host events to show their support. 🌍💜

Last year, participants from over 85 countries across all continents joined in to spread awareness! 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦

💜 What is Epilepsy? 💜

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder causing recurrent seizures, which can affect movement, awareness, and behavior. While some are born with it, others develop it due to brain injury or infection.

Did You Know?

🟣 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy.
🟣 Seizures vary—some are subtle, like staring spells, while others involve full-body convulsions.
🟣 70% of cases have no known cause but can often be managed with treatment.
For some, epilepsy can lead to swallowing difficulties, making tube feeding essential for nutrition and medication management.

💜 Today, we stand with the epilepsy community—raising awareness, breaking stigma, and celebrating their strength!

Today, on International Women’s Day, we recognise the incredible women who drive change and make a lasting impact in their communities.

At Paper Cranes Children’s Foundation, we see the power of women—mothers, caregivers, advocates, and medical professionals—who work tirelessly to support children with complex medical needs.

This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” calls on us all to push for progress toward gender equality. It’s a reminder that change doesn’t happen by standing still. Whether through advocacy, education, or support, we must continue working together to ensure every woman and child has the opportunity to thrive.
