If you’ve had a concussion, hiding away is not helpful & is more likely to slow your recovery.

Reintroduce things that trigger symptoms slowly, at a level that keeps symptoms happy or mild.

Rest completely from high risk activities that could cause a second concussion & seek help from an expert if you want to optimise your recovery.

Aerobic exercise is one of the best ways to start your recovery from concussion.

Higher intensities can trigger symptoms, so slow down if that happens!

Walking, jogging, spin bikes, assault bikes & ellipticals are great options.

Leave things like swimming, rowing and ski ergs until later in the recovery.

Concussion is treatable right from day one.

Aerobic exercise shouldn’t trigger symptoms more than a mild intensity (Less than 3/10). Start with brisk walking or a spin bike and increase the intensity as you tolerate more.

It is best to be guided through specific neck and eye rehab by a health professional with experience and expertise in concussion.

😎 Pros of stretching:
- makes you feel good,
- easy & accessible (if you can touch the ground from where you are standing)

😫 Cons of stretching:
- not as good at preventing sports injuries as you may think,
- you won’t see the same secondary health benefits as different types of exercise (which prevent tightness too) if you are inactive.

On the hierarchy of good stuff you can do for your body I would place it somewhere in the middle.

Do it, but consider it as a small rock in comparison the health and performance big rocks: optimising sleep, load management, stress / mental health, nutrition.
