We’re really looking forward to welcoming Ellen Ronalds Keene as our guest speaker at the next Toowoomba Business Partners breakfast on Friday 13 March.

Many of you may have met Ellen recently at our Speed Networking event, where she connected with a number of local business owners and visitors exploring our community for the first time.

Ellen is the founder of Perk Digital and specialises in podcasting and podcast education, helping business owners share their knowledge, ideas and stories through this powerful medium.

At our March breakfast, Ellen will share insights into how podcasting can help business owners build authority, connection and trust through their voice and ideas.

This photo captures a moment from the Speed Networking event between Kiri from Beyond Life Wills & Estate Planning and Ellen from Perk Digital, and reflects the kind of conversations that happen within our community.

If you'd like to experience our community as a guest, you're welcome to reach out.

One of the things we value most at Toowoomba Business Partners is the calibre of business leaders who choose to be in the room.

We’re so pleased to welcome Brendan Ellis of ESBS Global to the community.

Brendan partners with established business owners to drive long-term revenue and profit growth. His approach is different from traditional business coaching, he works on a success-based model, aligning his remuneration with the financial outcomes achieved.

He works best with established businesses ready to scale, strengthen profitability, or prepare strategically for future exit.

We look forward to the experience and commercial clarity he brings into the room.

Visibility creates opportunity.🙏

We’re looking forward to welcoming over 60 local business owners this Friday morning at the Toowoomba Business Speed Networking Breakfast

A gentle reminder that Friday is the first touch point. The most important step comes next - the follow up.

Here are a few simple tips to make your conversations count:
• Follow up within 24 to 48 hours while the conversation is still fresh
• Send a personalised email or LinkedIn message
• Mention something specific you discussed so they remember the moment
• Express appreciation for the conversation
• Suggest a simple next step such as a coffee chat or short phone call
• Keep your message brief and focused on adding value
• Connect on LinkedIn with a customised request noting where you met

Speed networking opens the door. Following up is what builds the relationship and creates opportunity.

Ticket sales close Tuesday at 5pm if you’d still like to join us.

54 business owners have already secured their place for Friday morning 27 February at the Toowoomba Business Speed Networking Breakfast ☺️

Real conversations. Real opportunities. Real momentum.

Every speed networking event sparks introductions that would not have happened otherwise. A new client. A collaboration. A door opening at exactly the right time.

If you’ve been thinking about coming along and waiting for a little sign… this might be it. 😄

Ticket sales close Tuesday at 5pm.

We’d love to see you there.

There’s something that happens in a room full of business owners that you simply can’t manufacture online.

It’s the moment when two people realise they’ve been looking for exactly what the other offers.

It’s the genuine conversation that turns into a spark, the introduction that becomes a new client. The connection that becomes a genuine friendship.

We never fully know what will come from each of our speed networking events. But every single time, the stories unfold and we get the most wonderful messages long after the event has taken place.

Beautiful inspirational stories of new directions, a door opening at exactly the right moment. Being in the right place, at the right time, surrounded by the right people.

We call it the ripple effect.

If you’ve been craving more than surface level networking and you’re ready to be in a room where real conversations can ignite a new spark in life and business, we invite you to join us!

Tickets close Tuesday 24 February at 5pm.

‘We help Toowoomba business owners build trusted connections that grow their confidence and expand their visibility without awkward small talk.’

That is exactly what our Toowoomba Business Speed Networking Breakfast is designed to do.

No hovering around the coffee table or wondering who to approach. No leaving with a stack of business cards and zero real connections. Instead, you’ll be guided through structured, fast paced one to one conversations with local business owners who are ready to connect, collaborate and grow.

In one morning, you’ll meet more aligned business owners than you might in months of traditional networking. The conversations are real, the energy is positive and high, and the follow- ups happen naturally.

If you’ve been meaning to grow your network in 2026 but haven’t had the time or the structure, this is such an easy, wonderful and memorable way to connect.

One week to go before ticket sales close Tuesday 24 February at 5pm.

We were privileged to hear from Dale from GreenGrass Lawns & Landscapes at our Toowoomba Business Partners breakfast, and the feedback afterwards was outstanding.

Dale spoke about something every business owner wrestles with, but few articulate this clearly. Team culture. ‘It’s not complicated. Difficult, yes. But not complicated.’

He centred his presentation around three powerful pillars: The Why. Authenticity. Purpose.

On The Why, Dale reminded us that every single team member has one. ‘You might not like it. You might disagree with it. But they do have a why.’ If we don’t understand where our people are coming from, we can’t have productive conversations. We can’t lead well. We can’t build trust.

On Authenticity, he was direct. ‘Your words don’t mean crap.’ If you ask for feedback, you must genuinely welcome it. If you say you care, your actions have to prove it. Teams forgive mistakes. They don’t forgive inauthentic leadership.

And on Purpose, Dale delivered one of the most grounding truths of the morning. ‘For 99% of your staff, their mission is not to go homeless. To feed their kids. Your business mission doesn’t mean much compared to that.’

He shared that the true purpose of GreenGrass Lawns and Landscapes is to provide opportunity for his family and his staff. Everything else flows from that. When staff feel genuinely supported, customers feel genuinely cared for. Profit becomes the byproduct, not the driver.

He also shared his hiring philosophy: personality and attitude first. Skills can be taught. Culture cannot. One of the most powerful reflection questions he left us with was simple: ‘How do I feel on Sunday night about going to work Monday morning?’

Dale is a respected, kind and authentic leader who leads from lived experience, not theory. His honesty, humility and strength creates conversations to support the business owners in our team.

Thank you, Dale, for sharing so openly.

A big thank you as well to our wonderful visitors:
Joe from Intergenerational Solutions
Jodi from GE Digital
Scott Pearson from 1 Green Thumb Gardening

We’re so proud to introduce Brody Clutterbuck from Clutterbuck Insurance Brokers, one of our co-sponsors and speakers for the upcoming Toowoomba Speed Networking Breakfast.

Brody is one of those people you feel instantly comfortable around. He’s warm, compassionate, deeply by his values, and genuinely loves people. Meeting new people, hearing their stories, and building meaningful relationships is what he does brilliantly!

Brody leads with respect, integrity, and honesty. After years of working hard for organisations that didn’t align with those values, Brody made the courageous leap into creating his own business and he simply continues to thrive.

When it comes to networking, Brody is a bit of a networking legend! The more people he meets, the wiser he becomes, both personally and professionally.

Brody hopes people walk away with new knowledge that helps them make more informed decisions about their insurance and with a laugh or two along the way.

You'll love hearing from and learning more about the way Brody does business.

Tips to create a powerful pitch for Speed Networking - our first huge event for 2026. You’ve got one minute. Make it count.

Here’s how to prepare:
• Know your WHY. What do you want people to remember about you?
• Be clear on who you help. Who is your ideal client or audience?
• Share the problem you solve. Keep it relatable and easy to understand.
• Keep it simple. Plain language connects far better than jargon.
• Practice out loud. Time yourself and adjust so it flows naturally.
• Finish with an ASK. For example, “I’d love to connect with you on LinkedIn” or “I’m looking for referrals to…”
• Be genuine. Your energy, body language and tone matter. People connect with you first.

The clearer your message, the more powerful your connections.

Join us at the Toowoomba Business Speed Networking Breakfast Friday 27 February, 2026.
