You ever train harder than ever… and still run the same time?

Weeks of consistency.
Pushing yourself.
Doing everything you think you should be doing.

But nothing really changes.

Meanwhile, you see other people getting faster…
and you start questioning it.

“How are they doing that?”
“Why isn’t that me?”

I used to be the exact same.

I thought it was an effort problem.
That I just needed to push harder, do more, go further.

But I was wrong.

It wasn’t a matter of if I could improve…
it was a matter of when I actually followed the right system.

So I stopped guessing.

I got myself a running-specific coach
and started training with structure.

Since then, the results have honestly blown me away.

To the point where I can confidently say
I will run a sub 3:15 marathon in my first attempt.

That sounds crazy…
but it’s just proof that the system works.

Trust this - the moment you start taking yourself seriously is the moment everything changes.

You stop making excuses.
You stop negotiating with yourself.
You start showing up properly.

Everything you want is on the other side of that.

There’s a point where it just clicks.

Weekends stop being about getting drunk…
and start being about getting ahead.

Not because you have to.
Because you want to.

Because you’ve got goals that matter more than a hangover.

And once you feel that shift, you don’t really go back.

I turn 30 this week.

This is what I’ve learned the hard way…

- Social media is a pressure cooker.
You don’t realise how much it’s shaping your thoughts, your expectations, and the decisions you make until you step back from it. You start comparing your life to people you don’t even know, chasing timelines that were never yours to begin with.

- Find something that lets your mind drift.
Not scroll. Not consume. Actually drift.
Something where you can switch off from the noise and just think. That’s where clarity comes from. That’s where you start to understand what you actually want.

- Build a healthy lifestyle and routine.
Not for now - for later.
The habits you build in your 20’s will either open doors for you or quietly close them. Your energy, your discipline, your health all compound. They will either support your life or limit it.

- Be brave enough to put yourself out there.
Most people never even try. Not because they can’t, but because they’re scared of what might happen. I’ve never met anyone who genuinely went after something and regretted it. The regret always comes from not doing it.

- Stop giving a f**k what everyone thinks.
Most of the time it’s not even real. It’s your own insecurities projecting how you think people see you. Once you realise that, it becomes a lot easier to just move how you want to move.

- Get your finances in order.
Know what you earn. Know what you spend. Know what it actually costs you to live your life.
Because the freedom everyone talks about - travel, opportunities, investing, time - it doesn’t just happen. It comes from being organised, patient, and disciplined over time.

- Hard work is relative to your environment.
You might think you work hard until you’re around people who are actually obsessed. There are some hungry motherf**kers out there moving at a completely different level. If you want what they have, you’ll have to raise your standards and change the way you think.

- You have two choices every day.
An easy choice that leads to a hard life, or a hard choice that leads to an easier one.
You don’t get both. Not at the start.

First Half Marathon Race 1:33:43 🏁

Super happy with that, the plan wasn’t to go all out. I will say I sped up at the end to bring it home strong though. I got excited 😆

The were fast 🔥 Felt great running in them!

Hydration and carbs fuelling through the race worked a treat, no cramps and plenty of energy. I ended up using 4 x scoops of carbs and 3 + 1/2 scoop of electrolytes. I also took a 30g gel with caffeine at the half way mark.

Top to bottom ✅ Today wasn’t just about me pushing to be 1% better everyday but trying to encourage others to be as well 🤝🏽 I ran with a guy I’ve only met a few times at Griffith uni track and we went back and fourth the entire time pushing to be a little better 💪🏽

I’ve never felt that kind of fatigue before.

The kind where your body’s done…
your mind’s trying to find a way out…

but something deeper won’t let you stop.

Because you remember who you said you were going to become.

And quitting here doesn’t match that.

So you keep moving.
