🤝 Connecting for Change: A Powerful Networking Event at Johnny H
At Serenity Wellbeing Clinic, we are dedicated to improving mental health and disability support through advocacy, collaboration, and innovative solutions. The Networking Event at Johnny H reinforced the importance of working together to drive meaningful change.
A huge thank you to Alyce and the team at Johnny H for providing the perfect space for open discussions and new partnerships. It was inspiring to connect with like-minded professionals, all striving to create better outcomes for individuals living with disabilities and mental health challenges.
🌱 Bridging the Gap Between Mental Health & Disability in the NDIS
Minghao Zhu, Director of Serenity Wellbeing Clinic, highlighted a critical gap in the NDIS—the disconnect between mental health and disability support, particularly in training, funding, and access to resources for participants and providers. Many individuals with psychosocial disabilities struggle to access appropriate mental health services, while NDIS providers often lack the training needed to effectively support clients with complex mental health needs.
Minghao is committed to bridging this gap by:
✅ Delivering specialized training programs for NDIS providers, equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to better support participants with mental health challenges.
✅ Providing one-on-one clinical counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and families under NDIS, Medicare, and private funding, ensuring support is both accessible and tailored to their needs.
✅ Advocating for better funding pathways, empowering both providers and participants to navigate the NDIS system more effectively.
🏡 Innovators Driving Community Impact
We were inspired by industry leaders who are making a real difference:
✨ Jodi Kneepkens from Growing Daily is reshaping how businesses engage with the community. Instead of traditional expo giveaways, her initiative focuses on practical, high-impact essentials—from period underwear to mobility aids—ensuring resources go directly to those who need them most.
✨ Maria Emanolidis from Bright Horizons Supports WLD shared her powerful story of resilience and her dedication to ethical, participant-focused disability services.
✨ Paige Pitman from Skypoint Support Services is redefining Supported Independent Living (SIL) by transforming residences into warm, welcoming homes, not just facilities.
💡 The Power of Collaboration
This event reinforced a vital message: we are stronger together. By fostering partnerships and sharing expertise, we can create a more inclusive, compassionate, and effective support system for those who need it most.
