About me as a practitioner
My name is Mary and I have practiced dry needling for over 30 years having been originally trained by my grandfather (Chinese Medicine Doctor) and then gaining a Australian certificate in dry needling to practice locally. I am also an Australian trained and experienced remedial masseur who runs my own treatment centre in Gold Coast.
What is dry needling?
Dry needling is an ancestral therapy developed from Traditonal Chinese Medicine treatments refined and practiced over 2000 years.
How does it work?
This treatment helps my patients with pain and mobility management and is often best combined with deep tissue remedial massage.
I will use fine needles to activate deep trigger points in muscles and joint tissue to enable better blood circulation and release pain. As part of the treatment, I can also combine my deep tissue massage experience and Australian training.
How does the dry needling treatment feel?
The muscles may initially flutter and be sensitive to the treatment. Then the muscles are triggered to contract and/or relax which is all part of the physiological healing.
