Dr. Negus shares the critical advantages of our integrated, collaborative model—where allied health works directly with the surgical team. He explains how this approach greatly benefits the patient in achieving the best possible long-term outcomes.

Stronger Together

Happy World Allied Health Day!

The global theme this year, Stronger Together, perfectly captures the heart of what we do every day at MTP Health.
For years, we’ve been dedicated to providing truly multidisciplinary care, uniting a range of expert allied health professionals and orthopaedic surgeons under one roof. We firmly believe that your best health outcomes are achieved when our team—including physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and an orthopaedic surgical team, —collaborates seamlessly. It’s this combined knowledge and coordinated approach that allows us to create personalized treatment plans that truly work.
In celebration of the day and this powerful theme, we’ve been chatting with our incredible team about MTP’s connection to “Stronger Together” and what it means for our patients. Stay tuned throughout the day to hear their thoughts!
Thank you to all the allied health professionals around the world for your dedication!

Our body is a carefully integrated system. For every movement there are numerous muscles, tendons and ligaments which work together and rely on one another.

During an injury, when joint mobility is reduced, other muscles, tendons and ligaments compensate for the loss but will often become overworked.

It's important to address injuries directly rather than put them off and hope they will mend themselves because too often this only leads to more stress and exacerbates the existing injury.

If you suffer from joint pain, don't put it off any longer. Get in touch today.

"Sometimes we must learn a new way to think before we can master a new way to be"

We see the way our beliefs can have a drastic impact on our lives on a daily basis at MTP. A big part of the path toward becoming pain- free is recognising those beliefs that don't help us.

If you are suffering from knee pain, reach out to our team to discuss the best options for you.

The Power Of Perception...

The Placebo Effect is something that has been talked about for years. A lot of the time people tend discount just how powerful this effect can be!

In recent years there has been a shift in clinical rehabilitative practice towards critical self-reflection as a practitioner. A big part of this revolves around the acknowledgement of this effect when handing out treatment.

Essentially, if a person perceives an outcome is going to benefit them, then odds show that they will likely experience some benefit (up to 40% shown in some trials)

What we take from this, is that the best bet for ideal patient outcomes is to provide treatment that doesn't simply focus on the issue at hand, but the long term resolution of that issue.

That means finding out the reasons behind why that issue occurred and working toward ongoing empowerment for the patient

And that's what MTP Health is all about, value-based treatments that focus on the absolute best result for the patient in all areas

Everything works, but does it work as well as it could? 🧐
All we are doing with exercise is trying to create an adaptation 📈

At MTP, we make things more specific 🕵️‍♀️

Through specialised exercise we make sure that what is being done is tailored specifically to the person in front of us:
Considering both where they are at now & where they want to go 🌈

This requires experience:

1 Experience that shows an in depth knowledge of specific assessment procedures to identify where the person is at.

2 Experience that shows a strong understanding of how to get where the person wants to go.

This is the magic 🪄of MTP Health. With practitioners that have all dealt with real human beings at all ends of the functional spectrum. From elite athletes to people fresh off the operating table.

We use specialised exercise as our tool to make sure that everything truly works as well as it could.

Arthrogenic muscle inhibition is a common issue after ACL surgery. It most often affects the quadriceps and hamstrings, and if you don’t address it early, it slows down your entire rehab process.

At MTP Health, we don’t leave your early rehab to chance.

We use real-time feedback with the Dynamo to retrain the connection between your brain and the muscle. It allows us to track force output each rep so the client knows what’s working and where to improve.

Using isometric pushing (knee extension) and pulling (knee flexion) drills, we can manipulate the angle of the knee to target what matters most in the early phases.

In this case, we saw clear improvements in quad and hamstring output within 4–5 weeks despite the neural inhibition that followed a hamstring graft.

If you’re unsure whether your rehab is actually progressing or you’re not using objective tools to guide it then reach out. We’ll assess where you’re at and show you how to move forward with clarity.

Still got questions about your ACL recovery?

You’re not alone and the reality is most people are left guessing. So we put together the 5 most common questions we get asked most regarding ACL rehab

And they all point to the same thing:

Most ACL rehab programs don’t provide enough guidance, feedback, or structure

At MTP, we’re changing that

Through education, testing, and a phase-based plan that’s built to last a lifetime

Check out our recent videos or book in for an assessment

We’ll show you where you’re at and exactly how to move forward

Our Story

MTP Health exists to inspire and enhance health and human performance. We achieve this by bringing together a team of specialised allied health and fitness professionals and providing world class services across 3 key pillars: Clinical, Fitness and Education. Our first clinic was founded in 2012 as Move Train Perform, with the purpose of closing the gap between the medical/health field and strength and conditioning. We wanted to provide understanding, education, and empowerment for people so they could take control of their health, rehab, and training - continuing to stay active right through the process. As Move Train Perform grew and our services expanded so has our approach to health care and performance training. We understand that no single practitioner or trainer holds all the answers, that an integrated team approach is the way to help people achieve all their health and performance goals. Along with the development of our services, we decided that the business needed to represent the full breadth of what we provide. So to coincide with the opening of our flagship health and performance centre in St Leonards NSW in September 2016 our business was renamed to MTP Health.
