Listening to my subliminal affirmations this morning and Cookie jumped on the bed to join me.

Looks like cats like this too.

I believe it is because they perceive it as safe and relaxing and enjoy the soothing frequencies.

Sometimes cat parents worry about the alcohol used in flower essences and whether it is safe for cats or even if their cat might get tipsy from taking the essence.

Flower essences contain a minute amount of alcohol which is used as a natural preservative to keep bacteria out. As flower essences are largely water based they are prone to bacterial contamination.

If you are concerned, popping the essence drops into your cat’s water helps to dilute the alcohol and I find it largely dissipates once in the water.

You can also choose alcohol-free bases for your essence blend.

If your cat has specific health needs then either speak to your vet or work with an experienced practitioner like me to craft a blend that caters for your cat’s needs.

The problem of a highly anxious, stressed or worried cat is experienced by many cat parents.

You’ve tried lots of products that seem to work or approaches that actually made it worse.

You’re not sure what to do next and feel deflated and frustrated.

This is how I came to use flower essences with my two cats.

Because flower essences work at the emotional level, they are ideal to use with highly sensitive and anxious cats.

Cats respond somatically or react to how it feels in their body (safe or unsafe) and their nervous system

When things don’t feel safe their emotions become unbalanced which then influences behaviour.

Flower essences help yo support emotional regulation and calm.

Do cats actually respond to flower essences?

Yes they do! And they respond without overthinking it, just receiving and accepting of the healing. Flower essences work beautifully with cats who do not suffer from the placebo effect as they process this type of healing emotionally not cognitively.

Flower essences do not sedate, suppress, medicate or force change. They work to bring emotional balance that then influences behaviour.

Wow this will create some debate. What are your thoughts? I think health before asethetics is important personally but my favourite breed is rescue so ...

I will do a full video on my thoughts this week. I have had both breeds, so I have first hand knowledge as well as handling 1000s in shows over the years.

Here’s some stats:
❌Prohibited Activities: It is now illegal to breed, sell, buy, or import these breeds.
Ownership Restrictions:
😻Existing Pets: Owners who had these cats before January 1, 2026, may keep them only if they were microchipped before that date.
❌New Pets: Any cat born on or after January 1, 2026, or any cat not microchipped before the deadline, is illegal to own.
💸Penalties: Violators can face administrative fines of up to €1,500.
🙀Show Ban: All Scottish Folds and Sphynx cats are now barred from participating in exhibitions or competitions, regardless of when they were born.
