Harmony Day 2026 💚

Harmony Day celebrates the varied cultures, backgrounds and personal stories of people in Australia, and it recognises how this diversity weaves together to create a richer community. ✨

At Modalis, we deeply value these differences and the unique perspectives they bring and support a unified and inclusive world.

This day is also a reminder that feeling a sense of belonging is essential. When people feel heard, accepted and supported, it can have a positive impact on their emotional wellbeing, especially during challenging times.

What does happiness mean to you? 🧠

Scientifically, happiness is linked to processes in the brain involving neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin…

But happiness is also deeply personal. It isn’t a constant state, and for many people, especially when navigating mental health conditions, it can feel out of reach at times.

That’s why for International Day of Happiness, we’re sharing what happiness means to our clinicians. Their reflections move beyond biology and show how happiness can be about finding joy in the little things in life. 💚

Remember, if you’ve been struggling with your mental health, speaking with your GP or another trusted health professional can be a helpful first step.

Brain Awareness Week… 🧠

In honour of this week, Dr. Brad Hayhow shares his tip for improved brain health. 🧠✨

This week is an opportunity to talk about brain health and highlight important advancements in neuroscience!

At Modalis, we’re passionate about promoting this topic and increasing awareness of evidence-based, innovative approaches in mental health care, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic fields to stimulate targeted areas of the brain linked to mood regulation. ✨

If you’d like to learn more about TMS and how it can support people living with conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD and more, visit www.modalis.com.au or call us on (08) 6166 3733.

Celebrating Different Minds… 🧠

Neurodiversity is an umbrella term that describes differences in neurological functioning and the ways we process information and experience the world. It includes variations in neurological development and brain functioning that influence cognition, behaviour, communication, and sensory processing.

At Modalis, we recognise both the strengths within neurodiversity and the challenges people may navigate day-to-day. We value a more neuro-affirming, inclusive world and believe in truly celebrating different minds. 🧠

World Sleep Day 🌎

Here’s one of our furry friends having a well-deserved cat nap…but what are the benefits of a good night's sleep on our brain health? 🧠

Quality sleep plays a key role in how your brain functions each day, and most adults need around 7–9 hours of sleep each night for healthy brain function.

A good sleep routine helps you process information more clearly, supports memory and concentration, and gives your nervous system the chance to regulate stress and emotions!

Try to keep a consistent sleep schedule and maintain a relaxing wind-down routine before bed. This could include some simple stretches, reading a book, and just making sure you’re away from the screens before you sleep.

What’s your advice for a good night's sleep? 🧠💤

Things to do during a TMS session…

If you’re new to TMS therapy, you may be wondering what the experience involves. 🧠

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a gentle, non-invasive treatment carried out while you are awake and seated comfortably.

During your session, you are free to use the time in whatever way feels most supportive to you! Many people choose to read a book, watch television, or put on something calming to help them relax. Some people choose to nap, while others enjoy having a quiet conversation with our friendly clinicians!

Sessions are designed to feel calm and personalised to you. There is no need for anaesthetic, and you can return to your usual daily activities afterwards. ✨

If you would like to learn more about TMS or what to expect during the patient experience, call us on (08) 6166 3733 or visit our website at www.modalis.com.au.
