Next Thursday I’ll be delivering my 10-minute presentation at BNI, sharing more about the work I do through Avril’s Holistic Mental Health Counselling & Coaching.

Many people hear the words mental health and immediately think of crisis support — but my work is also about education, prevention, resilience, and helping people find their balance before things reach crisis point.

During the presentation I’ll be sharing:

If you’ve ever watched Star Trek, you’ll know the Borg have one famous line:

“Resistance is futile.”

Unfortunately… sometimes our brains run habits exactly like that.

You decide to stop smoking.
Your brain says: “Resistance is futile.”

You decide to eat healthier.
Suddenly the brain is assimilating biscuits, chocolate, and wine like the Borg have landed in your kitchen.

That’s because habits live in the subconscious mind, not just the logical thinking brain.

This is where clinical hypnosis can help.
