Knowing the difference can help you get the right support.

Stress = Overload

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based form of therapy that helps people identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours.

It’s based on a simple idea:
The way we think affects how we feel and act.

For example:
💭 “I’m a failure” → 😞 Feelings of shame or sadness → 🛑 Avoiding tasks or socialising

CBT helps you recognise these patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, learn new coping strategies, and build confidence and resilience. It's practical, collaborative, and focused on your current challenges — not just your past.
CBT is commonly used for:
