It took me 2 years to be able to get my hair done the first time. I went to a sensory hair dresser in ocean grove where the lights were dim and only 2-3 clients at a time, no talking. It was the ideal scenario. These days I go to any regular hair dressers but suss it out before I arrive. I always call the hairdressers ahead of time to let them know and yes it has been ok so far. But I do bring things to prepare. Earphones are a must!!!

Pain cause by nothing just a result of your brain misfiring. A firework show going off causing kaos. My pain period is my worst memory. Once I understood that it was my brain misfiring there was nothing actually wrong I figured out how to shift it. Acupuncture and shutting down the signal using breath-work. It wasn’t easy but it worked. I was willing to try anything and it paid off.

Before I was sick I was blissfully unaware of how easily I could life day to day but when showering was the biggest effort, walking I could not even do that, it’s so wild what little task felt like such a big effort. It’s not just the physicality it’s also the mental part of it. What a wild ride. I am grateful for the steps forward and humbled by the steps back.

Especially when you have an invisible disability you can go from zero to 100 super fast. So it’s important to always be prepared to ensure that if $hit does hit the fan you can get through it with the least amount of fuss possible.

I can’t believe how far I have come. I have worked my butt off to help relieve my symptoms and had some success and some failures but it’s all been a part of the journey. I will forever continue to ease symptoms but for me now the fact that I am no longer having 15 seizures a day is amazing. Sending love to you all.
