Today in Australia, 38 people will hear the words "you have Parkinson's" for the first time. That's more than one person every hour, of every day. 🕒

Parkinson’s Awareness Month is a reminder of the challenges faced by those living with Parkinson’s every day. It’s a time to learn how we can make a difference in their lives — through exercise, social opportunities, and community activities. 💪🧠

Parkinson's is a progressive, degenerative condition of the central nervous system, with no known cause or cure. It affects more Australians than many common cancers and is often misunderstood and misdiagnosed.

💡 Parkinson’s doesn't just affect older adults. Every day, 5 Australians under 40 are diagnosed.

🎉 Welcome Dr. M A Salam to our team! 🎉

We are excited to introduce Dr. M A Salam, a highly experienced General Practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), to our clinic!

Dr. Salam brings with him a diverse and impressive background. After graduating with an MBBS(Hons) from The University of Sydney in 2007, he completed a PhD in Theoretical Physics at The University of Canterbury in New Zealand. His passion for academics also led him to lecture in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence at both The University of Sydney and CQ University for over a decade.

With years of experience across hospitals and general practices, Dr. Salam’s areas of interest include chronic disease, skin conditions, mental health, paediatrics, women’s health, and men’s health.

When he’s not providing exceptional care to his patients, Dr. Salam enjoys spending time with his family, writing poetry (he's even won third prize in the North American Open Poetry Contest!), playing chess, walking, Pilates, and making music. 🎼

Dr. Salam speaks Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, and English, making him an invaluable resource for many of our patients.

We are thrilled to have him as part of our team and look forward to the care he’ll provide to our community! 🙌

Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Complete a quick online request by answering a few simple questions.
2️⃣ Your GP will review it, usually within 3 days*.
3️⃣ If approved, you’ll receive a notification and payment will be collected.

🔑 Important Info:
- Only available for existing patients on current medication.
- Not for medications that require authorisation or for new prescriptions (appointments needed).
- Requests are handled only by your regular doctor.
- A fee applies for each request (urgent requests may incur a higher fee).
