Today is International Le***an Visibility Day! 🌈

This year, we’re celebrating those who’ve made history, built community, and kept the joy alive ✨

Our installation ‘Hung Out: from Wicked Women to Sad D**es’ spans four decades of unapologetic le***an presence - from the trailblazing, s*x-positive Wicked Women magazine (1988–1996) that rewrote the rules of le***an s*xuality, to the beautifully messy, joyful gatherings of Sad D**e Sundays, creating space for d***s to show up as our most authentic selves.

Word on the Sheets carries forward ACON’s 40-year legacy of LGBTQ+ advocacy, centering the s*xual health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ women, trans and gender diverse communities. Created by us, for us.

We know a Starter Pack won’t solve bi erasure… but it’s a fun way to kick off Bi+ Awareness Week 💖💜💙

Bi+ folks bring so much love, resilience, and joy — and deserve healthcare that actually sees us for all of our complexity. From s*xual health to mental wellbeing, Bi+ people continue to face challenges that don’t fit neatly into the binary boxes the system tries to squeeze us into.

Letting past or current partners know is a simple act of care

It helps stop the spread in our communities and empowers others to make informed decisions about their s*xual health, so they can get tested and treated.

Many STIs are curable, all are treatable, and talking openly helps reduce stigma.

Calling all LGBTQ+ women, trans & gender diverse people!

Word on the Sheets are conducting community consultations across Australia, to help shape the future of our new s*xual and reproductive health online resource.

This consultation aims to receive valuable feedback about the user experience, look and feel of the website.

We welcome and encourage participation from LGBTQ+ women and trans and gender diverse folks who are:
✨ Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
✨ Multicultural, CALD, or migrant individuals
✨ From regional and rural Australia

👉 Must be 18+
🖥️ 1 hour consultation, online via Zoom
🗓️ Consultation sessions will run from 4-6 August 2025 from 7pm – 8pm AEST

You’ll receive a $70 digital gift card as a thank you for your time and participation.

Did you know 9 in 10 people will get at least 1 type of ge***al HPV (Human Papillomavirus) in their lifetime?

HPV is very common, no matter who you’re having s*x with or how you’re doing it.

It's STI Awareness Month, and the Word on the Sheets team has a PSA for the LGBTQ+ community: Don’t ghost your s*xual health! No matter your s*xuality, gender, or who your partners are, or how many you have – STIs don’t discriminate.

STI awareness is about educating and empowering ourselves and our communities to practice safer s*x and self-care.

Trans Day of Visibility – or sometimes relabelled Trans Day of Action – began in 2009 as a way to celebrate positive representations of trans people and their achievements. It’s not just about being seen, it’s about recognition, support, and action.

With the current state of the world, and the increased threats toward the trans community, uplifting the voices and experiences of all trans people is more important than ever.

We stand in solidarity and support with all trans people in our communities and commit to listening, learning and continually improving our resources so they are inclusive and relevant for everyone.

Trans visibility isn't just for one day— it's about breaking down barriers, celebrating trans joy and honouring trans people in all their diversity everyday.

A massive shout out to everyone who came and engaged with us over Mardi Gras on Gadigal Country, from Fair Day and Q***r Screen to Ultra Violet and Sissy Ball!

Whether you played our infamous ring toss game, won some merch, scored some stickers, carabiners, play packs or just came by for a chat, it was amazing to meet and connect with you all.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers. Thank you all!😊
