TODAY, VOTE FOR THOSE WHO WILL. AND IF YOU BELIEVE CARE WORK MATTERS. NDIS providers are burning out. I sat with one last week—tears in her eyes, exhausted—and she said, “We didn’t start this to cut corners. But now I’m just trying to survive.”

She’s not alone.

NDIS pays about $100/hour, varies depending on time of day, weekends, public holidays, and service type and location.

The real cost of delivering care? Around $95.50/hour. That’s a $4.50 margin—before tax. No price increase in years, while fuel, rent, insurance, and compliance costs skyrocket.

These providers are delaying pay rises, cutting training, increasing caseloads, and some are even forced to pay below award—not by choice, but by necessity.

This is the reality of “women’s work.” Emotional, invisible, essential—and still undervalued.

This isn’t just a business issue. It’s a human one.

If we want quality care, we have to fund it. If we value carers, we have to protect them.
