Brandon Mouw lived with type 1 diabetes for 31 years. You may notice that I used the past tense. He had type 1 diabetes, until his pancreas transplant.

Celebrating all the Diabetic warriors today! We stand together in science & technology, medical research being the guinea pigs of cures to one day hope that we can all say proudly, we used to have diabetes.

World diabetes day 2022 - a day when we come together to raise awareness of diabetes and how it affects millions of people around the globe. A big reason I made my page to be able to raise awareness everyday but there is something special about today.

Thought it was only right I made my own post today!

I just want to start by sending all my love to those living with diabetes. Those caring or loving someone that lives with diabetes. My love goes far and wide to all my warriors out there 💙

2022 has been a history making year for our community in Australia! FINALLY the government introduced subsidised CGM’s to those living with type 1. This has taken the cost from $330 per month to $32.50 per month.. say what?!! Now let’s keep up the good fight to have this WORLDWIDE!

2022 we have also recently seen the government fund the Ominood dash system that aussies fought so hard to get after it being rejected for years. These are such positive signs for our community and making what WE NEED affordable. The day we don’t have to sacrifice food or paying a bill just so we can have 2 weeks of ??’good control’??

2022 I have gone through my 20th year living with T1D. I have endured my 5th year of diabetic retinopathy. I have traveled. I have let go. I have reflected. I have changed cgm systems. I have changed pump systems. Through it all I have grown and learnt so much about ME, the life I am in and the body I manage everyday.

Wise words from JRRF - No matter how long it’s been since your diagnosis, it’s always worth learning new tips on treatment and management, catching up with the latest research, and getting in touch with people and organisations who can help make your life easier.

Happy world diabetes day! Let’s not just live but thrive living with type 1 diabetes (until we obv find a cure 😅)

I am no saint but I do try hard everyday to do better for myself and my health. I try so hard but also find myself in a negative spin sometimes with trying so hard because some days nothing works. Some days insulin just acts like water. Some days you’ll think you’ve nailed your bolus and bam you end up either low or high. The saying doesn’t lie ‘diabetes is a forever juggling act’ - how exhausting 😴

This type 1 mum has gone above and beyond every single day to make sure I’m okay and well. My mum has been on such a journey with mt diabetes I can’t even imagine! Since forever my mum has been there but since I was diagnosed at age 6 we have a bond like no other, that no one will ever replace. So thankful for all the love & support from my mum and my whole family with always being there and understanding how hard things can be for me sometimes. We all ride the wave together and I am forever thankful for that ❣️

Being so carefree after feeling so overwhelmed and burnt out with my diabetes is exactly what I needed. I feel refreshed to take charge again of my levels and getting my HBA1c down even more. Baby steps but all progress 🙌🏼🫶🏼

It’s taken a lot of hard work and loving myself to feel confident wearing my devices. We are special. We are unique & we should feel so proud because living EVERY single day with a chronic illness is hard work. 💕
