Janette O’Toole is the Principal Physiotherapist at Better Health Physio, based in the Inner West, I am married and have one daughter.
I grew up in Sydney and graduated as a Physiotherapist from Sydney University in 1996. I have over 20 years experience in Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. I have extensive experience in the assessment and management of Men's Health and Women's Health; including incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, bowel disorders, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain and antenatal and postnatal care. I ha
ve completed Postgraduate Certificates in Continence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Women’s Health (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Acupuncture. I am enthusiastic about sharing my understanding and knowledge of the pelvic floor. I have presented at Australian and international conferences, published a book chapter for a midwifery textbook and published several articles for Australian and international journals. Janette O’Toole is a specialist women’s health and pelvic floor physiotherapist.
Dedicated to the assessment and management of women’s health and pelvic floor disorders, Janette is considered one of Sydney’s most experienced pelvic floor and women’s health physios.
Janette has more than 20 years’ physiotherapy experience both locally and abroad, including three years as a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist at King’s College Hospital in London. She holds Postgraduate Certificates in Continence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Women’s Health (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Acupuncture and was involved in pelvic floor clinical research at King’s College. She has published several articles on her research findings for international journals and was invited to become the reviews editor for the Journal for Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecology Physiotherapy. She has also published a chapter on Pelvic Floor in the Childbearing Year for a midwifery textbook.
Passionate about sharing her understanding and knowledge of the pelvic floor, Janette has presented at both Australian and international conferences and workshops. She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), International Children’s Continence Society (ICCS), Continence and Women’s Health group, Acupuncture and Dry Needling group and the Continence Foundation of Australia (CFA).
In her spare time, Janette enjoys walking, keeping fit and spending time with her husband and daughter.
