Your child might be spending hours in front of a screen... but what exactly are they doing? Learning a new dance routine, editing a mini movie, or exploring their curiosity? That’s a very different story from zoning out and scrolling for hours on end.

✨ Instead of asking “How much screen time is too much?” — try asking:
➡️ “What kind of content are they consuming?”
➡️ “How are they feeling afterwards?”
➡️ “Is it adding to their growth or just filling time?”
Let’s shift the mindset from how long to how valuable. 💬

💭 What kind of screen time do you feel good about your child using? Let us know!

☀️ School holidays aren’t sunshine and smiles for every child.

For some kids, school is more than just learning — it’s where they feel safe, connected, and structured.
So when routines disappear and social time fades, *big feelings* can rise. 😔💭

You might notice:
🔁 More meltdowns or restlessness
🛏️ Sleep getting off track
🫤 Difficulty with unstructured time
🧍Feelings of loneliness or boredom

✨ Gentle reminder: It’s okay if your child doesn’t love the holidays.

Try bringing in some structure, connection, and predictability where you can. Even small routines can go a long way.

The “When/Then” Rule: Your new screen time superpower.

Try flipping the script with this simple, structured approach:
👉 When you ___, then you can ___.”

✨ It sets clear expectations *before* the screen goes on.
✨ It helps kids learn that responsibilities come first.

Have you tried the *When/Then* rule before? What’s worked for you? 👇💬

As Term 1 comes to a close, we encourage all families to take a moment to reflect—on progress made, challenges faced, and lessons learned. Growth comes from both successes and setbacks. As we step into the next term, let’s set some goals that support our well-being and continued learning! 🌿✨

📢 Autism: Why It’s Missed in Girls 💡✨

Did you know that autism often looks different in girls than in boys? 🤔 Many girls fly under the radar because their traits don’t always match the “typical” traits of autism. Here’s what you should know:

💙 Masking: Many autistic girls naturally adjust their behaviors to blend in socially, sometimes without even realizing it. This can make autistic traits less visible but also lead to exhaustion over time.
💜 Special Interests: While boys may hyperfocus on topics like trains or video games, girls might dive deep into books, animals, or fashion—often seen as “typical” interests.
💙 Friendships: Instead of avoiding social interaction, autistic girls may genuinely want social connection but struggle with boundaries, cliques, or maintaining friendships.
💜 Sensory Sensitivities: Strong reactions to clothing textures, sounds, and lights can be mistaken for being "picky" rather than sensory challenges.

🚀 Why This Matters: Many autistic girls grow up feeling exhausted from masking, confused about their struggles, and sometimes even misdiagnosed with anxiety or other mental health challenges.
