I might have gotten a bit fan girl with the announcement of music therapist, Dr Alison Short, as the 2025 Hughes Woman of the Year.

At a time where art and music therapists, a primarily female dominated industry, was essentially desecrated overnight by a rogue government decision, we now await a single appointed economist to make the decision about the ongoing access the theraputic supports for people with a disability. Pretty wild stuff!!

It looks like we might have community support to ensure art therapy provisions for those most deserving can continue in the Shire, regardless of financial status or external organisational politics than can throw out turbulence.

CIPHER Studio is a collaborative initiative of the local veteran community supported by C R E A T i V E ◽️ Interventions and Woronora River RSL Sub Branch.

The veteran community co-initiated, co-designed and co-implemented a creative and experiential therapy program.

The program supports local widows, veterans and the broader veteran community to integrate experiences of bereavement, grief and trauma with individualised, strengths-orientated therapy within a framework of reciprocity, authenticity and genuine regard.
