15 FEBRUARY ~ International Childhood Cancer Day ~
Today is a global collaborative campaign to raise awareness about childhood cancer, and to express support for children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors and their families.

Every year, more than 400,000 children and adolescents below 20, are diagnosed with cancer.

The Target Goal of the WHO Global Childhood Cancer Initiative is to eliminate all pain and suffering of children fighting cancer and achieve at least 60% survival for all children diagnosed with cancer around the world by 2030.

Judging by Ashton's face.. do you think he knows he isn't the youngest anymore 🤔
We welcomed our newest family member Hendrix to the family a week ago

It was such an overwhelming experience as we waited in theatre for the c-section to commence. I broke down crying several times in the theatre waiting room anxious to see what was coming next but so excited to meet our new little man.
The PTSD from Ashton's birth haunted us and quite frankly we were extremely nervous and scared. Being wheeled into theatre, the memories came flooding back. We kept praying that all our prayers had been answered for a healthy boy.
At 10.21am, we heard the loud cry and Hendrix was placed on my chest. The tears of joy and relief fell down my face. He is perfect and healthy and everything we had prayed for.
Levi and Ashton adore their little brother and we are eternally grateful that our prayers have continued to be answered

What felt like the longest week ever... Nathan and I received the message we've been waiting and praying for - MRD NEGATIVE !
Ashton's bone marrow biopsy showed no leukaemia cells 2 years post bone marrow transplant 🙌

This means Ashton no longer needs routine bone marrow biopsy surgery and now undergoes a blood test every 6 months.

We can't explain in words how we feel right now but we are so blo*dy damn proud of him

All he wanted when waking from surgery was to be fed chips whilst sleeping still 😅

Surgery day today - routine bone marrow aspirate to ensure no leukaemia cells have returned 🙏 🤞

Today may potentially be Ashton's last surgery for good! Or it may be January, as his 2 years post bone marrow transplant falls in November.
If all the results come back clear and today is in fact Ashton's last surgery, he will have 6 monthly check ups via blood tests and no further surgeries.

We continue to hope and pray that all remains clear ❤

Daddy donated some blood this evening.
Daddy has A- blood type and it is currently in high demand due to national shortages.

The reason to donate is simple…it helps save lives.
In fact, every two seconds of every day, someone needs blood. Since blood cannot be manufactured outside the body and has a limited shelf life, the supply must constantly be replenished by generous blood donors.

Join 'Team Ashton John' on Lifeblood, roll up your sleeve and donate to save ❤
