👀 Did you know it's Teddy Bears' Picnic Day today?

🐻 We're posting today to share a great initiative by Kelly Moss of Ostomy Support Bears. (You may recognise her face... she was recently featured in our June edition of our Journal, available on our website). Based in WA, Kelly makes and shares her cuddly friends to support those with a stoma, particularly with children in mind. But they are often also donated to parents, adults, and anyone that would benefit from having a stoma bear or doll, including for teaching purposes!

🔗 To follow her work and get your very own bear (prices vary) for yourself or another ostomate (or maybe an STN) who comes to mind, check out 'Ostomy Support Bears WA' here on Facebook (a private group) and on Instagram.

👀 The countdown to Sydney's City2Surf is on, with only 5 weeks to go!

📣 Did you know this year NSW Stoma is running for the first time?!

💰 Thanks to 5 amazing fundraisers and 46 generous donations, we've already raised $1,897 of our $5,000 goal, with the amazing Catherine with a C having fundraised $1,306 of that!

👟 What is it?

The City2Surf is the world’s largest fun run, with the 14km community event promoting fitness, fun, and fundraising, and in 2025, we’re excited to be a part of the action.

🤔 Like to get involved? For our inaugural year, you can run, jog, or walk along with us? Or maybe you’d just like to donate to show your support? Either way, your generosity and support will enable us to not only raise vital funds to keep supporting ostomates across NSW, but also help raise awareness in showing the rest of the world just what us ostomates can do! 💪

🌊 Port Macquarie, thank you for having us!

🤓 We had a wonderful time at our Stomal Therapy Education Day on the Mid North Coast, and we hope you did, too!

Our Stomal Therapy Education Days are a great opportunity for ostomates and their friends and family, carers, and STNs to get together to mingle and learn about what's new in the stoma world, with industry representatives also present showcasing what's new in their product range.

🌊 Next up for our Stomal Therapy Education Days is Wagga Wagga. The event will take place on Friday 15th August at Wagga RSL. Please RSVP by 4th August to customer.service@nswstoma.org.au for catering purposes as a light lunch of finger food will be provided.🥪😋

July's Members Zoom meeting is coming up Wednesday!

This month, STN Anne Marie will be discussing when you should see your stoma nurse and our director Carol will be talking travel tips from the ostomate's point of view.
