MRIs are powerful — but they don’t always tell the full story.

Just because your scan says “degeneration” or “bulging disc” doesn’t mean it’s the reason you’re in pain. These findings are surprisingly common in people with no symptoms at all.

Even if it means changing up the way you approach something, or reducing the amount of time you’re doing your sport for, chances are the word being used shouldn't be "NEVER". It may be hard work, but it’s worth it if you enjoy what you do!

⚽️ With the winter sporting season in full swing, we thought we’d go over fresh soft tissue injuries and what to do with them.

🥶 First of all, we’re not here to say that icing when you’re in pain is the 😈 devil. It definitely has its place for pain relief in the short term! We now know that it just doesn’t help all that much with swelling management.

🤕 Have a think about gentle movement, compression and elevation to get rid of any excess swelling instead.

😴 RECOVERY is a huge part of athletic performance and injury prevention.

💪 For a long time now athletes have been trying to improve on their performance by overloading to the point of overuse. We’re telling you that there is a little more to it, and you may be better off getting those extra Z’s.

👉 Swipe across to find our own creation of a RECOVERY SYSTEM. The aim is to get 100 points within 24 hours of a heavy training session.

A few points to think about:

💤Active recovery: low intensity movements such as gentle bike riding, walking or stretching

💤Passive recovery: requires less movement, think saunas, hot cold showers and foam rollers
