When Emily moved into her new Supported Independent Living home, she wasn’t sure what to expect.
She’d lived with family all her life, and this was her first time having her own place.

The first week was full of small changes — learning the bus route, figuring out the kitchen, and meeting her housemates.
One afternoon, while chatting with our team, Emily mentioned she used to love painting but hadn’t picked up a brush in years.

We helped her set up a small art space in the lounge. Now, every few days, she paints with the sunlight streaming in, a cup of tea nearby, and her favourite music playing.
