Behind every THEIRS event and safe space is a group of incredible humans giving their time, energy, and care to support others 💛

Outside of THEIRS, our volunteers are students, workers, creatives, advocates, parents, young leaders, and community members — all balancing their own lives while still showing up for others.
They help create connection, safe spaces, conversations, and real impact across our community every single day.

THEIRS is built by people who genuinely care — and we couldn’t do it without them.

Our volunteers truly are the heart of THEIRS 💛

HAPPY VOLUNTEER WEEK ✨🤍

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers who are the heart and soul of THEIRS. 🙌
Thank you for the time, energy, compassion, and lived experience you bring into everything you do.

Whether you’re supporting our events, welcoming community members, sharing your stories, or helping others feel seen, heard, and supported — your impact reaches further than you probably realise.

Your lived experience, understanding, and genuine care help create safe spaces where people can connect, grow, and know they’re not alone. 💫

Last week, we were incredibly proud to speak for the first time at the volunteering symposium, where we highlighted just how important young people are in volunteering and community leadership. Young volunteers are not only making a difference right now they are the backbone of the generations to come, bringing fresh ideas, empathy, passion, and real-world experience that helps shape stronger and more connected communities for the future.

Every event, every conversation, and every act of support helps change lives and none of it would be possible without our volunteers. You are the people behind the smiles, the encouragement, the connection, and the community we continue to build together.

From all of us at THEIRS, thank you for showing up for others, for believing in community, and for making such a meaningful difference. We appreciate you today and every day. 🫶🤍✨

We can’t believe it’s already been a week since the Young Achiever Awards 🏆 — but somehow, in that short time, the team has still managed to pack in so much!

Over the past week we have:
✨ Attended the Young Achiever Awards
✨ Spoke at the Volunteering Symposium
✨ Presented at the Mental Health Professionals Meeting
✨ Joined an incredible youth event with close to 1,000 young people attending
✨ Ran another amazing Monthly Mix: Social Shuffle event
✨ Met with our website designer to lock in final layouts and designs (coming soon 👀)
✨ Advocated for young people in a major new project meeting (more coming soon!)
✨ Submitted a huge grant application with Upturned under an incredibly tight timeframe
The team has absolutely smashed it lately, and I honestly couldn’t be prouder.
It’s been incredible watching everyone step up into new roles and spaces, continuing to grow as leaders and advocates within their communities. The passion, commitment and heart this team brings into every room is something really special 🫶
After a massive few weeks, the team will be taking a small breather for Volunteer Week — some very well-earned rest and reset time.

We’ll still be online, but you’ll see us back around more towards the end of the week!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us, collaborate with us and believe in what we do. Big things are coming 🚀 ps Laura’s cat Ari was sad she couldn’t attend games day so she made it clear she was coming next time! 😂

This weekend, we had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Achiever Awards in Tasmania. It was so rewarding to give back this year, and we can’t wait to do even more of it! We are still so in awe of the amazing young people in our communities doing spectacular things.

We were asked to help with some behind-the-scenes work this year, including the centrepieces, where we launched version one of our new Resource Connection Boxes. Each box included a series of cards and items with instructions, and guests had to complete the activities before the other tables. The feedback we received was absolutely phenomenal, with many people asking for this to happen more often. We loved seeing the room buzzing with people connecting and chatting with others they may not normally interact with.

A big shoutout to our member Ruth, who helped bring it all together under a serious time crunch (including cutting paper items in the car on the way down!). We couldn’t have done it without you!

The second reason this event was so exciting for us was because so many of our members and supporters were nominees, semi-finalists, or finalists at the awards — and some even took home trophies! We couldn’t be prouder of the incredible efforts our members and community put in, not just for us at THEIRS, but also through their volunteering, work, schools, and local communities.

We are so incredibly proud — and just look at how amazing everyone looked!

Until next year’s awards!! ✨👏

We might be a little late posting for Do It For Dolly Day, Dolly's Dream but the cause was still front of mind for our team 💙
Last night at the gala, we made sure to wear a touch of blue in support of kindness, connection, and standing against bullying. A small gesture to help keep an important conversation going.

We are so excited to be supporting the awards this year!

Our founder Laura was the recipient of the MIAB award last year and we had a few of our members recognised for their amazing contributions this year!!!

For those who are attending tomorrow will get a sneaky and look at what we are doing for the tables.

One thing that we’ve been focusing on as a team is how connection can be prevention.

When we can build community the hardest stuff we deal with throughout life can become a little easier to manage. So not only are we doing some pretty Flower 🌸🌷🌹 pieces we will also be doing connection boxes for each and every table.

To know more either follow along or we will see you at the awards tomorrow night 6:30 pm to celebrate some young people all across Tasmania doing some amazing things ✨

A massive thank you to THEIRS for providing our centrepieces at the Gala Presentation Dinner! 💐

THEIRS is a youth-led mental health and su***de prevention community organisation running events across Tasmania. Not only are they helping make our Gala look beautiful, they have also nominated inspiring young achievers - true champions of Tasmanian youth!

This week, Jaspah and I had the privilege of attending the National Su***de Prevention Conference 2026 ran by ***depreventionaustralia. in Sydney and we’re still taking it all in.

We were incredibly grateful to not only be in the room, but to also have the opportunity to speak on stage and share a bit about THEIRS and what we’re building. Being surrounded by so many passionate people, lived experience advocates, and changemakers was a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

One question that really stuck with us after our presentation was “Are you thinking of taking this national?”
Our answer was simple, yes. As long as we have the right support, connections, and funding behind us, we’re ready to go.

It was also so good to reconnect with some familiar faces, alongside meeting so many new ones. These spaces remind us that none of us are doing this work alone.

We heard stories that challenged us, ideas that inspired us, and met people who are driving real change in their communities. It reinforced something we’ve always believed, connection saves lives.

We’re coming back with fresh perspective, deeper purpose, and even more commitment to creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

A big thank you to the team who brought this all together. Events like this don’t happen without the people behind the scenes making it possible.

And we’re already looking ahead. We’re so keen to welcome everyone to Tasmania for next year’s conference, and hopefully share some exciting updates by then.

Big conversations ahead. We’re ready for them. 🤍
