🪑 Walking into a counselling session for the first time can feel a little overwhelming — but here’s something important to know: you have rights.

• You have the right to feel safe, respected, and heard without judgment.
• You have the right to ask questions, to understand the process, and to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
• You have the right to know what’s being shared, why it’s being shared, and to trust that most of what you say will stay private.
(There are a few legal exceptions, but your counsellor should explain those upfront.)
• You also have the right to take a break, pause sessions, or stop altogether — therapy moves at your pace.

This is your space. Your story. Your healing.
And it begins with knowing your rights ✔️

💓 I just came across this social theory that says if a female starts liking pink again she’s healing ❤️‍🩹

Growing up I HATED pink because it was so “feminine” and “girly”. I remember as a teen especially there wasn’t a lot of talk about being proud as a woman and we were put down quite a lot. So it’s really nice to see that this pink theory is becoming a collective movement because we’re ALL healing.

I’ve subconsciously noticed myself wearing pink more often lately and I’m not mad about it, I’m embracing my femininity and my inner child is screaming for joy 🥹

Growing up within Egyptian culture, I became more and more curious as to why mental health was stigmatised and why we didn’t talk about things like depression and anxiety. The more I asked questions the more I came to realise that it comes from Ancient traditions and beliefs. Thankfully, mental health is becoming more widely known and accepted within Middle Eastern cultures because we are 🫶

When you don’t know what to say to comfort someone, the most important thing is to simply be present, honest, acknowledge their feelings, and offer your support by saying things like “I’m here for you,” “I’m listening,” or “It sounds like you’re going through a tough time,” and then let them share what they need to say; you can also ask open-ended questions to encourage them to open up about how they feel 🫶🏼
