What are meditation and mindfulness?

Meditation has a history that goes back thousands of years, and many meditative techniques began in Eastern traditions. The term “meditation” refers to a variety of practices that focus on mind and body integration and are used to calm the mind and enhance overall well-being. Some types of meditation involve maintaining mental focus on a particular sensation, such as breathing, a sound, a visual image, or a mantra, which is a repeated word or phrase. Other forms of meditation include the practice of mindfulness, which involves maintaining attention or awareness on the present moment without making judgments.

Benefits of having a pet

Owning a pet can increase opportunities to exercise, get outside of your home, and socialize.
Walking or playing with pets can help you lead a more active life.
Pets can help manage loneliness and depression by giving us companionship.

Keep in mind that beside numerous benefits, there are responsibilities too, such as an increased cost to daily expenses and a dependant for many years.

But, in the end, nothing compares to unconditional love, offered and received. 🐶🐱🐹🐰🐠🐾

There are a few and accessible ways to promote relaxation and reduce stress, such as:

- spending time in nature: reading in the park or walks
- getting regular exercise
- practising gratitude
- engaging in creative activities such as art or music.

It is important to find strategies that work for you. Choose the one you like and add it to your daily routine to best support your health.
