Weight lifting for bone health!
Here is an insight into a supervised strength training session, aimed at improving bone density for Osteopenia. Lisa here has been training at Holistic Physio for a year now, and has seen her deadlift increase from 8kg to 38kg!
It is a common misconception that women shouldn't be lifting weights... but this couldn't be further from the truth. It is in fact vital for maintaining our muscular strength & endurance, muscle mass and bone health. All of which are vital for maintaining our quality of life.
Strength training can also help prevent falls, improve metabolic and cardiovascular function, posture and confidence.
