Reading this list thinking 'Yep, that sounds like me'?

Don't worry, you are not alone!

Being a mother is physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting and we see how burnt out and overwhelmed you get.

Having strong, supportive and healthy boundaries is critical for your own mental and physical health, especially in motherhood.

Boundaries help you to:
> Create more time for what you want to do
> Feel less stressed and overwhelmed
> Take better care of YOU
> Feel more trusting of others
> Harbour less resentment and anger

When you are struggling through motherhood, setting boundaries might feel like the last thing on your list. But I can tell you, it needs to be one of the top things. The problem is that you don't know how to set boundaries. You feel sick at the thought of setting them.

2024 is the year of turning that around. Of treating and preventing you to be hit by the burn out, resentment, anxiety or overwhelm. Our signature program Project Me is kicking off and will provide you with all the necessary tools and supports that will see you move through your struggles and reconnect to yourself.

Don't miss your opportunity to join. Visit www.mindovermumma.com.au/project-me and secure your spot.

There is one piece 🧩 missing in your pursuit to overcoming and preventing burnout.

πŸ’‘It's having the knowledge and ability to implement targeted and efficient interventions that treat and prevent you from being hit by burnout.

Understanding precisely WHAT is enhancing / increasing your stress and burnout and taking the action to alleviate and reduce these PLUS Knowing what is needed to be implemented and integrated to decrease the stress and burnout.

When we look at stress enhancing factors this is where you see parental perfectionism, people pleasing characteristics, poor stress management, pessimistic tendencies, lack of support, countless chores and duties.

Stress alleviating factors are critical - its learning to break cycles of those stress enhancing factors, but also leaning into self-compassion, emotional intelligence, nurturing yourself, having and creating positive relationships, external support, having clear boundaries and limits.

Without having clear and targeted interventions, resources and supports that allow you to overcome and prevent burnout, you will remain in the vicious cycle burnout has trapped you in.

Book in a complimentary consultation with our trained and experienced perinatal & maternal mental health occupational therapist and find out what the journey to overcoming burnout could look like for you.

Don't struggle through burnout alone when support is available!

So many mothers report feeling multiple symptoms of burnout related to parenting and begin feeling like they are just going through the motions rather than feeling present or engaged.

The doubts kick in, wondering if you are cut out for the job.

πŸ“Š A Statistical Glimpse into the Relentless Pursuit of the Supermum. πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

In a world where mothers are expected to be superheroes, exhaustion, guilt, and resentment all become a daily companion.

πŸ”ŽThese statistics point to a sobering picture of a generation of mothers who sacrifice their own physical, mental and emotional health to fulfil the unattainable ideal of supermum.

A staggering reality that demands attention. Recognising the toll this pressure takes on mothers, working towards a society that values their well-being, offering support systems and a shift in societal expectations.

Let's normalise the supermum as one who DOES NOT exceed her limits, who prioritises her own health, wellbeing and happiness. Who feels balanced, empowered and supported.

❓Do you feel like you sit within these statistics?

Unmasking the Manufactured Motherhood Burden 🎭

πŸ’‘Let's debunk the myth that mum guilt is a 'natural' part of motherhood. ❌

Society has subtly created this notion that mothers should feel guilty for everything they do or don't do. But here's the TRUTH: Mum guilt is a manufactured burden, not a normal state of mind.

πŸ” Dig deeper and you'll realise that mum guilt stems from unrealistic expectations, societal pressures, and the constant comparison game. Right here, with our therapists, is where a healthy mindset begins.

It isn't that you aren't doing enough, but rather because the messages you have received your whole life play upon your values, vulnerabilities and unmet needs.

🚨Dismantling the manufactured guilt takes work, but work that is so worth it.
Work that can release yourself from the guilt, from the notion that has you believing you should be perfect, selfless, and constantly sacrificing.

Re-defining motherhood on your own terms and finding a balance that works for YOU and your family. βš–οΈ

Knowing this πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ is your KEY to releasing the load you carry!

We all know it, hear it, feel it, see it. The mental load is spoken about so much in modern motherhood. But what isn't spoken about is HOW you can reduce it.

There was a time I felt that carrying such a huge, overwhelming load was my life now. So what has changed?

1. I sought support - real, evidence-based therapeutic support with a health professional who not only lives motherhood herself BUT she knows the importance of integrating repeatable strategies and tools that will allow me to release the heavy load.
2. I recognised that the load was within me. Sure there is a lot of 'things' to do and remember, but I also didn't have effective strategies or coping skills that allowed me to relieve the pressure.
3. I was trapped in a cycle of people pleasing and burnout that I could not see any way out.

Did you want to know the reality?
It isn't easy to change your ways. It's scary leaning into change. It's vulnerable. But unless you are willing to connect to and have a strong enough desire to change... NOTHING will change.

If you haven't yet put your name down for our signature therapeutic program, Project Me, I suggest you hop to it. Head to mindovermumma.com.au/project-me or click the link in our BIO, learn more and put your name on the waitlist.

That load you carry can become a whole lot lighter once you implement the correct strategies, supports and tools with our perinatal & maternal mental health occupational therapist.
