ICSA - Indian Sub-Cont Crisis & Support Agency

ICSA - Indian Sub-Cont Crisis & Support Agency The 1st NGO for Indian Subcontinent in Australia. Delivering services directly to clients; & advocating for better services, fairness & social justice.

The Indian (Sub-Cont) Crisis & Support Agency (ICSA) is the first NGO established in Australia dedicated to support this target demographic. The largest numbers of migrant arrivals into Australia in recent years are from the Indian Sub-Continent region and according to migration forecasts for the next three years to 2018 this trend is set to continue. As the community settles and grows, proportionally social issues do too; in volume and complexity. There are no formal government support systems in place to manage the influx. There is no specific funding set aside to deal with the growth and settlement for this target demographic from any public sector agency. Internal community support is constrained due to pockets of groups set up as associations within dimensions of religion, caste, education, social status, culture, politics etc. Such groups are limited in support that can be offered due to a heavy reliance on ad-hoc volunteers with anecdotal knowledge of local systems. Such groups generally limit efforts to within their target audience and operate autonomously further limiting their reach and outcomes. ICSA professionally delivers bespoke and tailored services, developed through research and experience.

Earlier this year we launched the idea of a roundtable where communities can get a better understanding of policy and how it affects us. So much has happened since then, the rage against migrants, politicians calling out demographics. If ever there was a time for a place for free and frank discussion in a respectful manner it is now.
If you are concerned with the way issues are raised on social media and the lack of fact check, maybe it's your voice that can make the difference.
The purpose of this group is simply to let policy makers know how people feel within the community from experts in their field.
There will be a formal launch in November, where we will present the purpose and format of how we can build constructive conversations together. invitations will be sent to those who submit an EOI.

Even as the government appeals to South Asian migrants through pre-election pledges, and we try to highlight our economic contribution to Australian life, it doesn’t take much for diaspora communities to become objects of suspicion.

A powerful fusion of Indian dance, music, and poetry, this immersive theatre work confronts domestic violence with raw honesty, cultural depth, and the courage to discuss uncomfortable truths.
What happens when silence is survival—but speaking out is freedom?

And What Will People Say? is an electrifying 60-minute immersive theatre experience that blends Indian dance, original music, and spoken word to explore the unspoken realities of domestic violence within families and communities. Told through the eyes of a mother and her children, this powerful piece invites audiences into a deeply personal journey of love, fear, shame, and resilience.

Rooted in real experiences and shaped by the voices too often left out of the conversation, the production challenges cultural stigma and generational silence. It exposes the hidden stories that echo behind closed doors, those shaped not only by violence itself, but by the social pressures that keep people quiet. It is a story of pain but also of courage, hope, and radical truth-telling.

Combining traditional storytelling with a bold contemporary narrative, this show is a call to listen and a call to act. Through immersive staging, live performance, and a hauntingly beautiful original score, audiences are not just spectators, they are witnesses.

Whether you’ve lived this story, know someone who has, or are just beginning to understand the complexities of domestic violence, And What Will People Say? offers a space for reflection, recognition, and connection.

This is more than theatre. This is a conversation our communities need to have. And it starts here.

Content Note: This production contains references to domestic violence.
