Trauma to the toenail, such as from an injury or repetitive pressure, can lead to the following:

👉🏼 Infection: Applying nail polish to a traumatized toenail can trap moisture and bacteria, increasing the risk of infection.

👉🏼 Discolorations: The nail may become discolored due to blood pooling underneath it.

👉🏼 Slowed Healing: Nail polish can hinder the healing process by preventing proper airflow and delaying tissue repair.
